Israel’s Health Ministry announced that only 221 new cases of the Coronavirus were found in Israel on Friday. Over the course of the weekend, an additional 14 people died due to complications with the virus. There are currently 429 people hospitalized with the disease in the country, 258 of them are in serious condition. Out of those, 146 are connected to respirators. Since the beginning of the virus in Israel, 6,292 people have died from the disease. At present, Israel has a total of 4,004 active cases of the virus that are documented. In addition, 5,309,758 Israelis have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 4,920,758 have received the second dose as well.
An Egged bus driver took a shortcut through the Isawiya neighborhood in east Jerusalem on Motzei Shabbos. The bus driver was transporting his family members when the bus was attacked with stones and firebombs. The bus driver and his family fled the scene without sustaining injuries.

The Black Flag movement began its weekly protests against the Prime Minister once again this Motzei Shabbos, as thousands of protesters took to the intersections and bridges across the country protesting the ongoing premiership of Binyamin Netanyahu and the fact that he was given the mandate to form a government once again by President Rivlin. More than 1,000 protesters gathered on Balfour Street near the Prime Minister’s residence in Jerusalem and called upon MK Naftali Bennett not to join a Netanyahu-led coalition, but to join the anti-Netanyahu coalition.
Internal Security Minister Amir Ohana spoke with Shas leader Aryeh Deri on Motzei Shabbos regarding the upcoming L’ag Ba’Omer festivities that are set to take place in Meron at the grave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. During the conversation, Deri asked for Ohana’s blessing to remove all regulations concerning the number of people able to attend this year’s festivities. Ohana expressed his support for the idea, but said that the police will enforce any compromise decided upon by the government regarding the number of people allowed at the site and will regulate the crowds accordingly.
Yamina leader Naftali Bennett told Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that he prefers a fully right-wing government to any other government makeup, and he will do anything demanded of him in order to form such a government.
However, he emphasized that if Netanyahu fails to form a government, he would attempt to form a government with the anti-Netanyahu bloc in order to prevent a fifth election.
A man was found dead in a shallow stream in the city of Be’er Sheva in southern Israel, Magen David Adom (MDA) reported. The body was noticed by a passerby, who reported it to MDA. Upon arrival, ambulance teams were only able to pronounce the man’s death.
a 17-year-old boy was seriously injured when he fell off of a horse in an open field near the town of Abu-Queider near Be’er sheva. Ambulance teams transported him to Soroka Hospital for treatment.
