Israel – War on the horizon!!


Early Wednsday morning, after a heavy night of fighting in the Gaza Strip; Hezbollah Terrorist mounted a surprise attack on Israels northern border capturing two Israeli Soldiers!! This will be updated as it happens. [The times posted before each update are Israeli times.]

At 9:45 pm:? The emergency session in the Israeli Cabinet ended Wednesday night to approve military actions in the North, amid growing sentiment that the region was sliding toward war and that Hizbullah’s morning attack necessitated a dramatic, widespread and painful response. The cabinet issued a statement saying, “A new, complicated situation has been created that Israel is obliged to deal with.” The statement said this new situation would include special preparations to deal with the possibility that “the enemy will try to cause damage to the home front.”At 7:53 pm: The IAF reportedly shot a missile at a car traveling in southern Lebanon on Wednesday evening, killing a Hizbullah operative traveling in it. At 7:30 pm:? The Security Cabinet has just started its emergency meeting at the Prime Minister�s Office. In addition Five Katyusha rockets were fired at northern Israel All five landed at Mt. Meron. The options for response to the current situation will be presented to a wider government meeting later in the evening.

At 7:00 pm: IAF fighter jets were met with anti-aircraft fire from Lebanese soldiers Wednesday afternoon above the city of Sidon.

At 6:08 pm: The IDF has confirmed that the total number of soldiers killed in this mornings Hizbollah surprise attacks in the North is SEVEN!!At 5:06 pm: 3 Soldier confirmed dead and 2 kidnapped 4:33 pm: A very high ranking military officer said that if the soldiers were not returned in good condition, Israel would turn Lebanon back 20 years by striking its vital infrastructure.At 4:27 pm: The IDF began calling up reservists following Hizbullah attacks on IDF forces along the northern border.

At 3:00 pm: Israeli Air Force planes flew over Beirut a short time ago but did not attack targets. Israeli has attacked southern Lebanon from the land, sea and air.

At 12:16 pm: The IDF has send ground troops and tanks into southern Lebanon to search for the two soldiers kidnapped by Hizbullah terrorists Wednesday morning. The military establishment also is preparing to call up reservists.

At 11:22 am: Air Force planes are bombing bridges and roads in southern Lebanon, apparently in an effort to prevent terrorists from fleeing the area with the soldiers.

At 11:11 am: The IDF has stated that two soldiers stationed near the Lebanese border are missing. The Lebanese Al Manar television station run by Hizbullah terrorists has claimed that its organization has abducted two soldiers.

At 10:47 am: Hizbullah television in Lebanon claimed Wednesday morning that it kidnapped two IDF soldiers after attacking an Israeli Army post. The IDF has not commented on the report.

At 10:37 am: Four people, including at least one farmer, were wounded in a Hizbullah Katayusha rocket and mortar shell attacks along the Lebanese border. One of the injured was listed in moderate to serious condition, and all of the wounded are being rushed to a hospital in Nahariya, on the northwest Mediterranean coast.

At 9:35 am: At least two explosions have been heard along the Israeli-Lebanese border, and residents of Shlomi have been ordered into bomb shelters.
