March 11, 2021 10:32 am at 10:32 am #1956297commonsaychelParticipantReb E, please deal with reality, for frum people the DOJ under Trump was the most frum friendly ever.
For religious assemblies, both small and large, having a place to gather for worship and carry out other religious activities is fundamental.
The land use provisions of the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA), enacted in 2000, are designed to protect the basic right to buy, rent, and use land for worship and religious exercise.
On June 13, 2018, the Attorney General announced the Place to Worship Initiative. The goal of the Initiative is to increase enforcement and public awareness of the land use provisions of RLUIPA. These provisions protect places of worship and other religious uses of property (including religious schools and religious social service providers) in the zoning and landmarking process from actions by local governments that:
Place unjustifiable burdens on religious exercise;
Treat religious assemblies and institutions worse than nonreligious assemblies and institutions;
Discriminate against religious assemblies or institutions based on religion or religious denomination; or
Totally or unreasonably exclude religious assemblies and institutions from a particular municipality or county.
The Initiative seeks to increase the Department’s enforcement of RLUIPA, and educate religious leaders, county and municipal officials, and the general public about RLUIPA.Edited

Both Trump and Biden have Jewish grandchildren. Trump spouts old anti-Semitic Jewish memes that he clearly believes, even though he doesn’t seem to personally hate Jews. But Mussolini didn’t personally hate Jews, either. Trump also says nice things about anti-Semites, and even lies about them at times, such as when he claimed that he didn’t know who David Duke is. Biden doesn’t spout anti-Semitic memes, period.

That acutally isn’t true al pi halachah.
March 14, 2021 5:37 pm at 5:37 pm #1957069charliehallParticipant“your perception that Trump encouraged anti-Semitism”
Trump definitely encouraged anti-Semitism. That is not my perception, that is fact.
He endorsed a neo-Nazi, Paul Nehlen, in a congressional primary. That even a single Jew could support Trump after that shows that Trump Jews have interests other than those of the Jewish people as primary.
He came before the Republican Jewish Coalition and spouted meme after meme. Quotes: “Is there anybody that doesn’t renegotiate deals in this room? This room negotiates them – perhaps more than any other room I’ve ever spoken in.” and “You’re not gonna support me because I don’t want your money. You want to control your politicians, that’s fine.” At a later Republican Jewish Coaltion event he would refer to Benjamin Netanyahu as “your prime minister”. (Well I wish we did have Netanyahu as the US head of government rather than Trump, as Netanyahu has about 40 more IQ points and did a great job on COVID-19, unlike the venal Trump.} These are exactly the same memes for which Ilhan Omar correctly gets called out for anti-Semitism. Anyone calling out Omar but supporting Trump is a hypocrite whose interest is other than fighting anti-Semitism.
Trump said that “very fine people” marched with Nazis in Charlottesville. Absolutely no excuse for that. Unequivocably condemning Nazis should be the easist political position to take, but Trump had to make it like he was looking to get supporters on both sides. (Note that both David Duke and Louis Farrakhan had supported Trump in 2016. Three hatemongers — all birds of a feather.)
Trump isn’t the kind of anti-Semite who would ever shoot up a synagogue. No Trump supporter has ever done that. But he is the kind of anti-Semite who fans the flames of hate, including anti-Semitism, and that is what most of Europe was like in the 19th century. The 20th century followed.

I don’t want to take your suffering likely, but the whole world is suffering. Israeli GDP for 2020 is -6% on par with other developed countries (Norway -3, Poland/US/Finland -4, Sweden/Turkey -5, Germany -6, UK/France/Italy/Greece -10, Spain -12). Given Israeli international connections, it is not bad.
2021 IMF forecast for Israel is +5, getting back to where you were. Out of all countries listed above, seems like only Poland will be +1 after 2 years. A couple of countries Norway, Turkey will be at 0, US and many others at -1. Those who were -10 in 2020, will be -3 to -5 after 2 years …
I know the numbers do not bring you food immediately and there are might be various social factors that can make life difficult, not reflected in GDP, but still you can see that Bibi did not mismanage the economy.

Sweden indeed has indeed death rate average per EU, a but also GDP decrease 5%, so their slow down is a little more than US. As you say in other threads “you have to be there” to analyze specific policies. for example, Swedish secondary class has 22 students, Israeli – 28. Israeli area per student seems to be also 50% less.

My question is – when Cotton brought up the letter from some AG that we should prosecute Parents for Domestic Terrorism, if that wasn’t from Garland, Garland should have immediately Fired him and possibly prosecuted him for Violating the First amendment. So now we have another First AG who’s going after people for Not going with the DemonCrat flow of sick Liberalism!

He never denied his memo or the news release for the memo.
(Did you read the memo?)Even the NSBA that wrote the original letter to DOJ did not retract, merely apologized for the language used.
Tom Cotton, the traitor to the US , of January 6th fame , was completely destroyed by Merrick Garland’s simple straightforward answers.
Since he couldn’t faze him on the memo or the news release for the memo, he tried to sidetrack him about a document written by someone else. That’s definitely a sign that you have nothing.
Cotton is a lowlife playing to the cameras. Barely let’s him answer. We have an AG who is going after people who break the law.
Read the memo.
That is his job.

What you don’t understand or what you are trying to manipulate e/o here is very simple.
That document was from a US Attorney.
I’ll repeat it -” when Cotton brought up the letter from some AG that we should prosecute Parents for Domestic Terrorism, if that wasn’t from Garland, Garland should have immediately Fired him and possibly prosecuted him for Violating the First amendment.”Anyone with a brain knows a US Attorney doesn’t do anything if it isn’t sanctioned from above. That means it came from the AG Garland.
He’s not stupid enough to not deny it.
If he would admit it, he could be prosecuted or be subjected to a lawsuit.
I think that this is just the beginning.
I think Garland’s Goose is Cooked!
These DemonCrats think that they can do whatever they want.
Just like any Dictatorship.
But Hashem put Trump in & he put in a Conservative SCOTUS.

You don’t understand.
There is no letter from any US Attorney that says that parents should be prosecuted for Domestic Terrorism for showing up at meetings and expressing their opinion.
If you heard the exchange posted on YWN you would know that.
It is for threatening School Board officials and harassing themTom needed a sound bite for Fox news and Right Wing Media and they got it.
Garland’s turkey is being cooked for thanksgiving.
He is an excellent AG who does not do the exclusive will of the President but of US Laws.
Bill Barr was owned by TRUMP. Jeff Sessions was owned by TRUMP.
TRUMP as a DICTATOR tried to stay in office after losing an election. Much to TRUMP’S surprise , Bill Barr told him to jump in the lake and quit.
Here is a statement from Tom that I totally agree with:

I’d appreciate if YWN would post a copy of the letter here.“It is for threatening School Board officials and harassing them”
Even if you’re right. All cases like this are handled on the State level, Not the Federal level.
Like I said this needs further investigation, to see if the Justice Department is violating the Constitution.“Here is a statement from Tom that I totally agree with:
“Those who attacked the Capitol today should face the full extent of federal law.”Well he’s on the money. He believes in the Constitution.
I’m still waiting to hear from any DemonCrat Politican about Federal prosecution for all the attacks on Federal property by the Left Wing mobs, during 2020 & 2021. -
