Israel’s death rate rose by about 10% in 2020, according to a report published on Monday.
The report by the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies stated that “although this is a significant increase, it is lower than the increase in other countries,” and lower than could have been predicted to result from the pandemic on the Israeli population.
At the beginning of 2020, before the pandemic hit Israel, Israel’s death rate was at a record-low level, the report said.
The data showed that the Chareidi and Arab populations were hit harder than the general population, resulting “in a more substantial increase in excess mortality.”
Around half of Israelis aged 65 and over who were diagnosed with the coronavirus by mid-October were from the Chareidi sector and the death rate in the Chareidi sector was four times higher than that of the general population although it comprises only 12% of Israel’s population.
The highest mortality rate was recorded during Israel’s second wave, from July to October, with excess mortality reaching 30%, a level not seen since the 1990s.
In summary, although Israel’s rise in excess mortality in 2020 was significant, the Jewish state fared well in comparison to other countries, such as the United States, where the excess mortality rate reached 18%.

Understandable because charedim have big families and have a close community life. However, Hashem is definitely talking to us! Maybe there’s too much sinas chinom between different sects, different types of kehillos, different chasidim with other Yiden, and chasidim internally?! Wake up everyone!!!

On second thought, maybe our enemies are davka trying to making chareidim be mevatel Torah, so maybe they davka engineered the virus to especially attack frum Jews. That’s probably more likely.

G-d bless Senator Ted Cruz – I’d love to read such an article, but it doesn’t seem to exist. Perhaps you can provide some clues as to how to find it? I checked via Google, and found nothing of the sort. If you can’t point me to any such article, I’ll have to assume that your post is par for the standard anti-vax course – say something outrageous and utterly false, knowing that a significant number of people will simply accept it at face value.

These stats have NOTHING to do with each other.
The first stat talks about the rate of death for a particular population. That statistic is TOTALLY INDEPENDENT of that populations percentage of a larger population. I’ll give an example:
* 50% of the people shot died in the terrorist attack even though those shot comprise only 0.001% of the general population
*25% of stage four cancer patients die within 5 years even though stage four cancer patients comprise only .003% of the general population.
I could go on.
In my mind, the two most significant points in this article are the following:
* The overall increase in mortality in the State of Israel was significantly less then other countries
* The Chareidi population had a higher increase in mortality rate then other segments of the Israeli population
What would be interesting is to compare the increase within the Chareidi population to the increase in other countries (like the US).
This is so disturbing that Charedi have higher death rate, because this implys that in upcoming elections, religious parties are liable to suffer fate of a lower % of population being able to vote for the. This has to be tragic, even more so after the salacious edict by the salacious supreme court earlier this week.
