Sorry, Ted Cruz is a Senator and there was nothing he could do about the cold snap other then being there and being cold with everyone, [the crises was brought on the the use of renewable energy when the wind turbines froze].
Far different then the liberal pols who were preaching social distance and no travel and doing the opposite. here is two prime examples:
Exhibit #1
The finance minister for Canada’s most populous province resigned Thursday after going on a Caribbean vacation during the pandemic and seemingly trying to hide the fact by sending social media posts showing him in a sweater before a fireplace.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he had accepted Rod Phillips’s resignation as minister hours after Phillips returned home from a more than two-week stay on the island of St. Barts despite government guidelines urging people to avoid nonessential travel.

“Travelling over the holidays was the wrong decision, and I once again offer my unreserved apology,” Phillips said in a statement confirming his resignation.

In a video posted on Twitter on Christmas Eve, the sweater-wearing finance minister was shown drinking eggnog beside a fireplace with a gingerbread house and a little Christmas tree.

“I want to thank every one of you for what we are doing to protect our most vulnerable,” Phillips said about Ontarians hunkered down at home because of the pandemic over the Christmas holidays.

But Phillips himself had been enjoying a Caribbean vacation since Dec. 13 on St. Barts, a French island popular with the rich and famous, even as his Twitter account had suggested he was in snowbound Ontario.

Opposition parties and health officials had called for Phillips to be fired from Cabinet. One party released video of a Zoom call showing Phillips participating — also while wearing a sweater — with a picture of the legislature as his backdrop, but with sounds like waves heard in the background.

The incident created a political problem for Ford, who acknowledged on Wednesday he knew Phillips was outside the country before it became public because Ford said he called Phillips “shortly after he arrived” in the Caribbean.
Ontario began a province-wide lockdown on Saturday and Ford has been blaming travelers for bringing the new coronavirus to the province.
“This is a devastating blow to the government and Ford personally because, as he has admitted, he knew that Phillips was in St. Bart’s and did not upbraid and order him back immediately,” said Nelson Wiseman, a political science professor at the University of Toronto. “Ford only did so once the news of Phillips’s absence became public,.”
Exhibit #2
More political fallout as a result of these exclusive photos FOX 11 obtained showing Governor Gavin Newsom attending an expensive dinner party. Tonight, we’re learning more about who else was at that party including two top California medical officials.

Not only do they call into question Governor Newsom’s explanation that the dinner was outside they also reveal that two high-level members of the California Medical Association were there at the dinner with the governor and has become a national symbol of do as I say, not as I do.

FOX 11 spoke to Jamie Court about the photos and said, “Well I was shocked, first of all, that they were so close together, and it didn’t appear they were outside.”
Court is president of the progressive organization Consumer Watchdog and his shock didn’t end with what he saw in the photos, but who he saw in them.

A closer look reveals that Janus Norman a top lobbyist for the California Medical Association who is sitting right next to Governor Newsom.
On Newsom’s other side is the CEO of the California Medical Association Dustin Corcoran.
Neither of them, as a matter of fact, no one at the table was wearing a mask or social-distancing despite the CMA funding an ad campaign this year urging people to wear masks.

Court says, “The message is to forget the pandemic, sit as close as you can, no face-coverings, no masks, no social-distancing, this is the state’s medical association, they speak for the doctors in the state, and their chief lobbyist and the president are sitting shoulder to shoulder with the governor as though its’ any time in American history not in the time of a pandemic.”
