18:05: 28% voter turnout in the Beit HaKerem area of Yerushalayim, Mayor Barkat’s community.
18:16: Israel Police reports handling 700 election-related complaints, which resulted in six arrests and the detention of nine people for questioning.
18:25: Authorities now reporting the shooting was not election-related, but occurred in proximity to a polling station.
18:27: A candidate for the Lod City Council, attorney Abed Azbarga, was shot six times by a masked man on Monday and remains hospitalized following surgery. Two arrests have been made in the case.
18:30: Two Arabs, 15, threw rocks at a Jabil Mukhaber school in Jerusalem where voting is taking place. There were no injuries. A policeman apprehended the two and took them into custody.
18:46: When Yahadut Hatorah MK Rav Yisrael Eichler arrived at Gimmel HQ in Har Chotzvim during the afternoon, one Degel activist shouted “Belzer, you ruined Yerushalayim. Get Out”, obviously referring to the fact the Belzer Rebbe Shlita did not instruct his chassidim to vote for Moshe Leon.
18:50: Voter turnout is reportedly high in the Arab sector. Nazareth election results expected to be indecisive, demanding a second vote.
18:52: Interior Ministry: voter turnout is beginning to pick up after work hours.
19:09: Acting on a tip, police raided two Beit Shemesh apartments and recovered 200 forged ID cards for use in the municipal elections. Eight arrests were made. Police are working with election officials to determine if anyone voted with the fake teudat zehut cards.
19:16: Voter turnout as of 19:00: Jerusalem (23.8%), Tel Aviv (15%), and Haifa (11%).
19:35: Police Chief Yochanan Danino pleased with how the department handled Election Day incidents and complaints.
19:47: A number of Sderot campaign workers aligned with the mayor have been arrested on suspicion of election fraud.
19:55: 21% voter turnout reported in Tel Aviv at 19:00. Low voter turnout most believe will benefit 69-year-old Mayor Ron Huldai, who is seeking his fourth term in office.
19:56: Interior Minister Gideon Saar reports nationwide voter turnout at 19:00 at 32.7%. In the 2008 municipal elections, voter turnout at 18:00 was 29.8%.
19:59: Both Jerusalem mayoral candidates, Moshe Leon and Mayor Nir Barkat appeared at the Kosel at the same earlier in the day.
