Why are Republican Senators making it so easy for Bidens appointees to be confirmed? Dems dragged it out for over a year when it came to Trump’s nominees.
January 26, 2021 1:10 pm at 1:10 pm #1942685Reb EliezerParticipantThey confirmed them easily because they are all competent not like Trump who only cared about a ‘yes’ man and not experience in the resoective fields of expertise.
January 26, 2021 1:14 pm at 1:14 pm #1942693charliehallParticipantYet another Trumpie lie. Mattis and Kelly were confirmed the same day Trump was sworn into office, and Haley 4 days later. All but one of Trump’s first set of nominees were confirmed within seven weeks. The exception was Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, who took 16 weeks, but that didn’t matter because the Trade Representative’s job is to promote international trade which Trump hates.
It is amazing how so many Trumpies think they can lie and not get caught.
January 26, 2021 1:57 pm at 1:57 pm #1942706akupermaParticipantDragging out confirmations is a waste of time (at least for people who the President can fire at any time). When the Senate is not controlled by the same party as the President, they constantly complain about each other. Any readers who work with preschoolers will notice the similarities between politicians and preschoolers.
January 26, 2021 1:57 pm at 1:57 pm #1942699lakewhutParticipantHow long did it take to confirm Richard Grenell? Over a year.
January 26, 2021 1:57 pm at 1:57 pm #1942700lakewhutParticipantBetsy Devos who the Agudah loved was narrowly confirmed by a 51-50 margin.
January 26, 2021 3:13 pm at 3:13 pm #1942715GadolhadorahParticipantGrenell was among the biggest Trump sycophants and grossly unqualified to serve in a senior intelligence capacity. Devos at least knew something about the subject matter of education although she spent 4 years trying to defund the public schools at the expense of private schools along with enriching private online colleges who defrauded their students.
January 26, 2021 3:14 pm at 3:14 pm #1942720hujuParticipantTo lakewart: Betsy Devos was unqualified for the position of Secretary of Education. But those awful Democrats would not even consider Merrick Garland, Trump’s nominee for the US Supreme Court.
January 26, 2021 8:14 pm at 8:14 pm #1942817Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantCharlie >> The exception was Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, who took 16 weeks, but that didn’t matter
Of note, Lighthizer was involved in very significant activities re: China, but it’s ok by you
January 26, 2021 10:29 pm at 10:29 pm #1942841lakewhutParticipantHuju and Biden picks are qualified? How does one be qualified to be secretary of education, since you’re so well-versed in politics?
January 26, 2021 10:30 pm at 10:30 pm #1942844GadolhadorahParticipantLighthizer was perhaps one of the most qualified Trump appointees and also one of the few who survived 4 years. His views on China and the WTO were really not that different from those of most Dems and he actually was reasonably close on a personal level with several Democratic leaders in the House and Senate. While he was a Trump sycophant, that outward persona was apparently the price you had to pay to stay in Trump’s good graces and get your job done.
January 26, 2021 10:31 pm at 10:31 pm #1942846charliehallParticipant“How long did it take to confirm Richard Grenell? Over a year.”
Another Trumpie lie. He was nominated in September and confirmed in April. And he did a terrible job, alienating a close US ally.
January 27, 2021 9:52 am at 9:52 am #1942952lakewhutParticipantWrong. We never bear anything about the appointees from the media when a dem is president
January 27, 2021 9:53 am at 9:53 am #1942953Ex-CTLawyerParticipant@lakwhut
Why must you constant LIE?????????????????
Did you fail arithmetic in second grade?????Grenel was nominated in September and approved by the Senate in April. SIX months is NOT over a year.
January 27, 2021 10:43 am at 10:43 am #1942966🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantHe must have had your English teacher
January 27, 2021 10:46 am at 10:46 am #1942965jackkParticipanthuju,
“But those awful Democrats would not even consider Merrick Garland, Trump’s nominee for the US Supreme Court.”
You meant “But those awful Republican’s would not even consider Merrick Garland, Obama’s nominee for the US Supreme Court”
Lakewhut,
Someone who has spent their whole career in public education would be most qualified to be the US Secretary of Education.
January 27, 2021 11:55 am at 11:55 am #1942972hujuParticipantTo jackk: My mixup about Trump/Garland was facetious. Take everything I post with a grain of salt, unless you’re under doctor’s orders to cut down.
January 27, 2021 11:55 am at 11:55 am #1942974lakewhutParticipantJackk typical communist. So a typical public school grifter is more qualified? Lol.
January 27, 2021 1:13 pm at 1:13 pm #1943007charliehallParticipant“Jackk typical communist.”
You clearly went to an inferior yeshiva because they failed to teach you want communism actually is.
” So a typical public school grifter is more qualified?”
The former Grifter-In-Chief Donald Trump didn’t go to public schools.
DeVos’s entire qualifications were being a rich Trump supporter with a rich husband. *I* would have been more qualified.
January 27, 2021 3:44 pm at 3:44 pm #1943022jackkParticipantHuju, sorry your sarcasm wasn’t clear.
Lakewhut,
Getting a higher education, teaching, being a principal is not grifting. It is the exact qualification. Unless your sarcasm also isn’t clear.January 27, 2021 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #1943116ParticipantParticipantI just don’t understand what was wrong with the previous cabinet that Joe needs a new one.
