A lot of posters on YWN, in the Coffee Room or in comments on the news articles, expressed certainty that Biden would not become president; they made these statements after all the major news networks announced that Biden had won the election. I would invite them to give their reactions to the fact that Biden is now president, and why they believed that he would not become president, even after the news networks, including Fox, said he won the election.
January 20, 2021 3:11 pm at 3:11 pm #1940753YtParticipantWhy do Jews not like biden, can someone please explain
January 20, 2021 4:30 pm at 4:30 pm #1940780ywnjudyParticipantWith me it’s because R’Isser Weisberg and R’Mendel Kessin, each in his own way, sorta overlapped in their conclusions that Trump is the one chosen by G-d, and they’re convincing analysts of historical context of Torah. R’Weisberg quoted numerical figures, for example, that Yishmael was promised xxxx number of years of ownership of E”Y, but 100-or-so odd-years had been detracted from by various conquerors. So that exact number of odd-years had to be compensated to the Sar of Yishmoel in the 20th century.
(Search for “Mr. President the ball is in your court” because i don’t have a good memory, so best get it from original source. Then again, you probably won’t be interested, since there’s another admin. by now anyway.
January 20, 2021 5:06 pm at 5:06 pm #1940802Little FroggieParticipantThere are unsubstantiated claims the Biden took office today.
January 20, 2021 5:53 pm at 5:53 pm #1940816GadolhadorahParticipantYWN Judy: Either you took this new age numerology stuff seriously or you truly believed the Qanon meshugaas crazies. Either way, could you explain what was the substantive legal theory you were relying upon to assume Biden wouldn’t be sworn in once the states certified their electors and all the courts hearing challenges, including SCOTUS, rejected further challenges.
January 20, 2021 9:51 pm at 9:51 pm #1940904charliehallParticipant“Why do Jews not like biden, can someone please explain”
Most Jews voted for Biden. He is a mentsch and a religious person. He went to mass this morning before being sworn in. And he has appointed a lot of Jews to high positions in his Administration, including 3 of the 4 most important cabinet postions (State, Treasury, and Attorney General) and also Chief of Staff at the White House.
January 20, 2021 9:51 pm at 9:51 pm #1940905charliehallParticipant“why they believed that he would not become president”
I think former Senate Majority Leader McConnell said it yesterday: “The mob was fed lies.”
January 20, 2021 10:30 pm at 10:30 pm #1940922torahvaluesoverpartyParticipantHuju-Because I had too much faith in American Democracy(you asked a question, thats my answer…)
YT-Because -Frum- jews in general vote republican, and especially now days with the radical left and their Woke, Socialist agenda holding a strong position within the democrat party, electing Biden gives them a scary mighty voice in the government.
Charlie, can you explain why most Frum jews voted for Trump, while most jews overall, for Biden? Can anyone? While I’m sure that you on YWNCR are fine, upstanding Yidden, there is undoubtedly a correlation between being a none-frum jew, and being a Liberal Democrat. I haven’t brought this up until now, but since you claim “Most Jews voted for Biden”, it seemed necessary.January 20, 2021 11:31 pm at 11:31 pm #1940959charliehallParticipant“most Frum jews voted for Trump”
Most frum Jews in my neighborhood voted for Biden. The phrase most often heard in the same sentence with Trump’s name is “moral degenerate”. So I can’t help you there. We can’t understand why any frum Jew would ever dream of supporting a moral degenerate who praises and at times even endorses neo-Nazis. It makes us look like hypocrites and destroys any standing we have to discuss moral issues with the world at large. Evangelical Christianity is facing the same problem. Trump has made religious people into laughingstocks. And he is laughing all the way to the bank as to how he used us.
Can you answer why any religious person could ever support a rasha like Trump?

We didn’t vote for tzaddik. We voted for the person who would implement the best policies.
Not that Biden is exactly a lamed vovnik himself.
January 21, 2021 2:28 pm at 2:28 pm #1941205torahvaluesoverpartyParticipantSo let’s see…either frum Jews voted for ttrump because we hate ourselves, and love white supremacists and neo-nazis…OR it’s the party that’s represented, and policy to be implemented with effect on everyday life, which causes *frum-jewish* support for Trump…
Listen charlie, you can repeat the lie that trump supports neo-nazis, but that lie won’t become any truer and you certainly won’t convince me…
Trump is the first one that was willing to stand up against the woke radical left, and fight “cancel culture” which is threatening to take down this country. Tzaddekal or not, morality, while certainly important, isn’t the first most important thing when electing a goyishe politician.January 21, 2021 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm #1941219ParticipantParticipantI can’t speak for everyone but I think health thought so cuz the priests said so.
January 21, 2021 4:04 pm at 4:04 pm #1941264charliehallParticipant“We voted for the person who would implement the best policies.”
If 400,000 COVID-19 deaths and inciting an a violent coup attempt at the US capitol isn’t enough to convince you that Trump’s polices are catastrophic, I guess nothing will.
January 21, 2021 4:04 pm at 4:04 pm #1941230charliehallParticipant“you can repeat the lie that trump supports neo-nazis”
That isn’t a lie. He really did support Paul Nehlen, a neo-Nazi, in a congressional primary in 2016 against Paul Ryan. You can deny it all you want but the facts make you the liar.
“fight “cancel culture” which is threatening to take down this country”
I strongly support cancel culture and every Jew should. Just yesterday I publicly called for the cancellation of David Duke, Tamika Mallory, Louis Farrakhan, and Linda Sarsour. If you disagree you might want to look at your priorities.
January 21, 2021 5:51 pm at 5:51 pm #1941303Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantYou guys from 2 different neighborhoods remind me of that Manhattan lady who was surprised that Nixon was elected – “I don’t know ANYONE who voted for him”. You both need to get out more (in a mask) or at least browse.
January 21, 2021 9:12 pm at 9:12 pm #1941342☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCharlie, you are overlooking Warp Speed.
Yes, he messed up on messaging, but overall I think saved more lives than he cost.
You make it sound like he’s responsible for all 400,000 deaths, as if nobody would have died of we had a different president, which is totally disingenuous of you.
And I don’t like (understatement) how he acted after the election, but it doesn’t negate all the good he did. Only someone with a huge liberal bias like you would ignore all of the positives.
January 22, 2021 1:39 am at 1:39 am #1941372torahvaluesoverpartyParticipantFirstly charlie, while you are correct that trump supported alt-right extremist nehlen, that support had a lot more to do with his spat with Paul Ryan than support for nehlen. What I’m arguing is that the narrative that trump has supported neo-nazis, and white supremacists throughout his presidency.
Charlie, you are GUILTY of utilizing trump’s comments on charlotsville, as fake “proof” trump is a white supremacist.
Secondly, the way you view “cancel culture”, I too, totally support.
But it’s way way beyond that. Take for example, that school in San Francisco, named after Abraham Lincoln. They wanted to rename the school because Lincoln didn’t show strongly enough that black lives mattered to him. People are losing their job for voicing their conservative opinion, for daring to criticize democrat officials. It’s way beyond what you described charlie.
And your comments regarding trump’s policy is ridiculous. 400,000 deaths. Yes, it’s called a virus. Nearly every country struggled with this. Trump destroyed isis, negotiated peace in the middle east, built the wall, built a great pre-covid economy…………..January 22, 2021 12:18 pm at 12:18 pm #1941465Avram in MDParticipantcharliehall,
“Can you answer why any religious person could ever support a rasha like Trump?”
I’m not sure if this is a rhetorical question intended to shame Jews who don’t think like you or if you actually want an answer. I have a fairly detailed perspective on this if you are willing to listen and discuss instead of debate and berate. I am disgusted with politics in general, so while I do have strong opinions on various issues, I do not see myself as a partisan.
“I strongly support cancel culture and every Jew should. Just yesterday I publicly called for the cancellation of David Duke, Tamika Mallory, Louis Farrakhan, and Linda Sarsour. If you disagree you might want to look at your priorities”
Lol, everyone would indeed strongly support cancel culture if they got to be the ones doing the cancelling, and could cancel just those people with opinions they despise. The problem is, Linda Sarsour is much more likely to be the decider of what to cancel than you are. Remember that you teach in a Jewish university.
January 24, 2021 7:26 am at 7:26 am #1941680Ben LeviParticipantCharlie
I guess we view the party of that backed Clinton and even had him speaking at their convention this year as one without a leg to stand on regarding moral matters.
I guess those who voted for Trump view those who voted for Clinton then scrame “morals” at those who voted for Trump as utter and complete hypocrites.
And those who claim to care about Isreal and then turned around and backed Biden a man who proudly and personally threatened Begin to either do what America wants or he will ensure all aid is cut off, as guilty of some sort of tortured logic to justify their political bankruptcy.
And I guess those who voted for Trump who worked to install Justices who would ensure I am aloud to practice my religion in peace without threat of the woke mob, as a more realistic alternitve then Biden and the left who view the NY TIMES present day ethics as more relevent then the Torah ch”V.
January 27, 2021 9:52 am at 9:52 am #19429485TResidentParticipantHere’s why I thought Trump would be re-elected.
People tend to re-elect Presidents who are in office while the economy is good. Jimmy Carter was thrown out after one term largely because of horrible inflation and his lack of confidence that the economy could rebound. Bush the First was bounced in 1992 because of a stubborn recession that began in 1990. I thought Trump would be re-elected because, prior to COVID, the economy was humming along and unemployment was at record lows among minorities. The Democrats were reduced to claiming that the “jobs” that Trump created were in fast food restaurants and the like, but jobs were jobs. The COVID pandemic was a blessing for the Democrats. The virus spread quickly without any knowledge of a cure or a vaccine, people died, the country went into lockdown and the economy tanked. Unemployment skyrocketed. Trump bumbled his way through this (not sure how anyone could have done much better – there hadn’t been a health crisis like this in 100 years) and in the end, the Dems were able to blame everything on him and, with the help of the leftist media, got their man in.
I have no doubt that had COVID never happened, Trump would have been re-elected.
January 27, 2021 12:31 pm at 12:31 pm #1942985hujuParticipantTo 5Tresident: Nice explanation, but you did not answer my question. He lost the election, and we knew that less than a week after the election. Did you think he would, nevertheless, be sworn in for a second term, and if so, why?
February 3, 2021 4:31 pm at 4:31 pm #1945025jackkParticipanthuju,
I am not surprised that you have not received even one answer to this question.
I am surprised that many in the jewish media published in January (before the 7th) that trump might still be president for another 4 years.February 3, 2021 5:53 pm at 5:53 pm #1945074HealthParticipantOh Jackk, -“I am surprised that many in the jewish media published in January (before the 7th) that trump might still be president for another 4 years.”
Why blame the Jews? Are you an Antisemite?
Go to the Evangel websites – I went yesterday – they still believe Biden will somehow be removed and Trump will take over!
I believe –
I’ll wait to see if they are are correct.
I have no opinion until then.February 3, 2021 6:32 pm at 6:32 pm #1945086Abba_SParticipantBiden will win another term if he gets covid under control and the economy booming. In 2024 Biden is going to have to run on his accomplishment. If all he has got to show is that he is not Trump I don’t think he can energize the party. Trump has strong backing in the Republican party and has over 70 million supporters. Also 2024 hopefully covid will be over and there will be less likely there will be claims of fraud.
February 3, 2021 7:07 pm at 7:07 pm #1945094jackkParticipantHealth,
You have not given a single reason why on January 6th you still believed that Trump would be the president.
If there is no reason for him to be president, why should they promote a fiction?!February 4, 2021 1:54 am at 1:54 am #1945104HealthParticipantOh Jackk, -“You have not given a single reason why on January 6th you still believed that Trump would be the president.

Don’t ask me those questions.
Ask the Evangel Xitians.
I was quoting them.
They believe Trump is going to get 4 more years.
And they still believe this.
Why are you questioning me on their beliefs?!?
Is everything that people believe in – You always Blame the Jews?!? -
