To spare the US another impeachment fight.
In concise summary, on Wednesday the leader of the executive branch incited a crowd to march on the legislative branch. The express goal was to demand that Congress and Vice President Mike Pence reject electors from enough states to deny Mr. Biden an Electoral College victory. When some in the crowd turned violent and occupied the Capitol, the President caviled and declined for far too long to call them off. When he did speak, he hedged his plea with election complaint. This was an assault on the constitutional process of transferring power after an election. It was also an assault on the legislature from an executive sworn to uphold the laws of the United States. This goes beyond merely refusing to concede defeat. In our view it crosses a constitutional line that Mr. Trump hasn’t previously crossed. It is impeachable.

I remember violence all over this country for years, and the media excused every instance.
What an about face from the media.Did you know, we still have no motive for the Pulse Nightclub shooting, even though the guy explained it to the 911 operator? How do we know who these people in DC were and their motivations using that logic?

January 8, 2021 1:31 pm at 1:31 pm #1936671GadolhadorahParticipantThere will be no resignation, no impeachment and no invocation of the 25th Amendment. Obviously, I wish he were gone asap but for the next 12 days, nothing can be accomplished. The bipartisan congressional leadership have spoken with the Joint Chiefs and they will ignore any 11th hour order to do something stupid. Career staff at the federal agencies will do likewise to sabotage any last minute efforts to engage in vindictive and destructive actions on his way out the door.
The most effective way now to express disgust for the cholera in the WH would be for both houses of Congress to vote on Monday to censure the President for his actions this week. That would put them all on record and require them to vote up/down on their positions.January 8, 2021 1:32 pm at 1:32 pm #1936674Ben LeviParticipantAs frum yidden it has never been our way to be involved in politics. We try as much as possible as a community to keep a low profile.
Sadly it seems many are forgetting that. With that said.
I find it incredible that for months cities were completely destroyed, People killed, their life’s savings destroyed, billions upon billions of dollars of damage was done.
Yet virtual silence from Democratic politicians. Some openly supported it, on Media infamously stated in Prime time” Where does it say Protests have to be peaful”.
Yet when there is incident of violence on the Republican side.
Which is swiftly condemned across the spectrum from every single Republican politician, including the President who did so 3 times in one day.
The world comes to an end.

How about when mobs looted store after store, weren’t they breaching the stores? Seems like only when the politicians themselves are scared does it become a problem. BTW how many politicians were actually harmed in the capitol hill mob? Big fat ZERO, obviously the capitol hill cop that was killed is inexcusable, but we didn’t hear this level of outrage for any of the victims of our summer of protests.
Wake up people, this rage is phony and contrived just to get us to shut up!January 8, 2021 2:43 pm at 2:43 pm #1936699akupermaParticipantWSJ represents that economic establishment, and Trump has been deemed bad for business.
One should note that if he resigned immediately, Pence will get the presidential pay and pension rights for the next 10 days, and unlike Trump, or Biden, Pence could use the money.
January 9, 2021 11:11 pm at 11:11 pm #1936899GadolhadorahParticipantWell, that cholera has suddenly decided its a great time to fly down to Texas on AF1 at a cost of millions of taxpayer dollars to hold a photo op with a newly completed section of his fashtinkene (spelling?) wall on Tuesday. Ideally, the Border police will leave him on the Mexican side of the wall but sadly, the Mexicans don’t want him either.

This riot was started by Antifa – to make Trump look bad and Not let anyone hear about the Massive election Fraud!
Who hired Antifa?
Definitely Pelosi and probably others running the DemonCrat Party.January 10, 2021 11:12 am at 11:12 am #1937083catch yourselfParticipantWell, I guess by now DJT has proven that he was correct in at least one of his campaign assertions: “I could kill someone in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue and my supporters would continue to support me.”
I don’t know that impeachment would be the right thing for the country, and in any case, Pelosi is obviously not serious about it or she would have had the House back in session yesterday, but I don’t think there is any question that what the President did last week is impeachable.
DJT is responsible, at least indirectly, for five deaths and an assault on US property, not to mention the direct assault on the very underpinnings of American Government. If he had a conscience, he would resign immediately. But, then, if he had a conscience, we would not be in this situation.
