Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of President Donald Trump’s top congressional allies, says the president must accept his own role in the violence that occurred at the U.S. Capitol.
The South Carolina senator said Thursday that Trump “needs to understand that his actions were the problem, not the solution.”
Graham was a foe of Trump’s during the 2016 campaign and questioned his mental fitness for office. Once Trump was in office, however, Graham became one of his closest confidants and often played golf with him.
Graham added that he had no regrets of his support of Trump but that “it breaks my heart that my friend, a president of consequence, would allow yesterday to happen.”
Graham complimented Vice President Mike Pence’s decorum during the Electoral College vote certification process, saying that any expectation that Pence could have overturned the results was “over the top, unconstitutional, illegal and would have been wrong for the country.”

Let him talk to the Democrats. When ONE DEMOCRAT speaks up against the Democrat riots of the last four years, starting with the ones at Trump’s inauguration, then there will be something to discuss.
“Lawlessness in one place breeds lawlessness everywhere.” Indeed it does. Yesterday’s lawlessness is the DIRECT RESULT of a whole year of lawlessness with the open encouragement of the entire Democrat Party, including the incoming vice president. Are people supposed to think that only Democrats can riot? Let them know that what’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
Listen to the whole recording. YWN hilighted only parts in the accompanying article. Senator Graham said that the government’s turning a blind eye to the unchecked riots this summer led to the rioting in the capitol. He is correct that all rioters should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Those who stole the election, lied about it, and are now blaming Trump, were the ones who incited violence, NOT Trump.
