Don’t get me wrong – demonstrations in Israel against Shabbos violations or digging over graves is important. Still, sometimes it may be wiser not to demonstrate, or perhaps it should be held in a certain manner ..that is why speaking to true Daas Torah is vital.

That said, when I see videos, I tend to have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it may be an issue worthy of a demonstration. On the other hand, it seems like many are there for the enjoyment or the thrill than anything else. Its fun to watch cops get mad and chase people or to sing and dance. It does not seem that many are doing it out of indignation and legitimately wanting to see things corrected.

Very few people ANYWHERE join public protests on a constant basis out of pure altruism.

Different people have different motives. On the online world for example there is an endless slew of protesting on social media that seems to be motivated by self aggrandizing and self righteous motives.

But the end of the day joining groups that are constantly protesting or criticizing other peoples behaviors is rarely done for altruistic motives and NEVER brings out good in anyone.
