In the Rosh Yeshivah’s weekly sicha on Tuesday evening, HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein addressed the soaring infection rate in Israel.
“The coronavirus situation had already vastly improved because we were careful,” the Rosh Yeshivah said. “But then people began to make light of it and now we have thousands of cholim. This all comes from being mezalzel the health regulations.”
“This not just a matter concerning one’s own self. If [someone is not careful], he also infects and harms others – and he’s a rodeif.”
“The tzibur must be stringent in adhering one hundred percent to health regulations, according to the known instructions of the doctors, to be careful and not to harm others. Everyone should completely adhere to health regulations and then b’ezras Hashem everyone will be healthy.”

Great but why does he and other gadolei yisroel remain silent when we see over and over again these simchas and levayahs with hundreds or thousands of frum yidden crowded together and in most cases not wearing masks? Maybe someone can explain why these generally worded edicts but failing to call out any offenders by name as a rodef?
This admonition includes anyone who so much as dares takes off face mask in Shul, irrespective of their reason, is an outright רודף
This also includes anyone who has the audacity to close a window in our Shul, even if they are cold, is an outright רודף
tell that to the royal family that had many hundreds, all without masks, at the wedding of the mezhinke a few weeks ago. It’s not too difficult to figure out the cause of the uptick in Corona cases in that community.
147. Yes and Yes. Do you have a problem with the Rav’s psak?? If you are cold, wear a sweater. If you don’t believe in masks, daven b’yachid.
