Rebitzen Leah Kook Cancels Shiurim

kRebitzen Leah Kook announced she is not giving her weekly shiurim after receiving instructions “from above”. According to a Kikar Shabbat report quoting “Shas officials”, the mora d’asra of Tiveria, HaRav Avraham Dov Auerbach, who backs Yahadut Hatorah, instructed the rebitzen to halt her shiurim until after municipal elections for fear she will tell participants to vote Shas.

The rebitzen has been giving her shiurim, as well as reciting Tehillim with women for over three decades. She has nonetheless released a letter endorsing the Sephardi Party, which opens “In the merit of grandfather Rav Elyashiv, in the merit of Rav Ovadia HaKodosh, in the merit of Baba Sali, Am Yisrael is holy and tzaddikim and we stood at Mt. Sinai and we saw HKBH.”

  1. Baruch Hashem, it is such a pleasure and Kiddush Shem Shmayim when we hear that a Rebbetzin willingly, lovingly and happily accepts orders from Gedolei Yisroel shlita, and is mevatel her own daas in deference to her mora dasra.
