An Arab passenger on board a 128 bus from Beit Shemesh to Betar Illit became unruly, then ruling out a knife and tried to cut the peyos of a male passenger.
According to passengers riding the bus on Sunday evening, 20 Cheshvan 5774, when the bus neared the Betar Checkpoint the Arab attacker was seated in the rear. He got up suddenly, pulled the knife and began cutting a man’s peyos. He then began threatening passengers. The driver stopped and opened the doors, at which time the lone attacker fled.
The IDF responded and used flares to illuminate the area. A chopper was operating overhead as well in the hope of apprehending the attacker.
Police report the man became agitated when the driver refused his request to let him off at an unauthorized stop.
