Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah claimed that Saudi Arabia has been seeking to assassinate him for a long time and that it worked in cahoots with the US and Israel to formulate a plan to carry out his elimination.
“Our data indicate that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman raised the issue of my assassination during his visit to Washington,” Nasrallah said in a four-hour interview with the pro-Hezbollah al-Mayadeen news website.
Nasrallah said he has evidence in his possession proving that Bin Salman requested that the US assassinate him, adding that the US agreed to it and said Israel would implement it.
The Hezbollah leader said that the Crown Prince told Trump he “was willing to pay any price necessary for Nasrallah’s elimination, even the cost of war.”
Nasrallah added that the Saudis and Israelis assisted the US in the elimination of Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani in January 2020, with the Saudis heading a propaganda campaign against Soleimani and the Israelis providing vital information on Soleimani’s whereabouts.
News reports in December said that Nasrallah has been laying low since the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in late November, fearing he may be the next in Israel’s crosshairs, with one report even saying that he fled to Iran.

This non-entity always comes up with fantasies about his attempted assassination just to give the impression that he’s actually essential.
In reality he’s not worth the bullet spent on him.
While Narallah’s death will not be mourned by any Jew, and will be celebrated by many in Lebanon and Israel, it is important to remember what he represents and why eliminating him will not solve Israel’s problems with Lebanon.
Lebanese politics basically divide into pro-Assad and anti-Assad factions; there are so many individual political parties that you need a scorecard to keep them straight. Hezbollah is one of the minor pro-Assad factions, but as it is the only one with its own army it has disproportionate influence.
However the one thing that all the pro-Assad and anti-Assad factions do agree on is that they hate Israel and this is the one country in the Middle East where that hatred is justified. The Reagan Administration warned Menachem Begin about what he was trying to do in Lebanon and Begin was too stubborn to listen. Begin is regarded as a hero tough Jew by many today but in fact he was an absolutely terrible Prime Minister and many of Israel’s problems today stem directly from his bad decisions. And Lebanon was one of the worst.
Then to make matters worse, Barak stabbed the one pro-Israel faction in Lebanon in the back. Why should any leader in any Arab state stick out his neck for Israel when Israel’s history is not good regarding protecting its friends. Note that the countries that have recently normalized relations with Israel are not neighbors and have never been at war with Israel. And Israel’s ally Trump backstabbing the Kurds, who had been supportive of Israel, does not inspire confidence either.
