The principal of the Tomer Devorah School in Ashdod is being reprimanded for permitting electioneering on behalf of Shas in the school. According to an Israel Radio report, the school not only worked to promote Shas in the upcoming local election, it sent letters to parents of students, instructing them to vote “Shas” in the election.

Tomer Devorah is affiliated with Shas’ Mayan Chinuch education network. Ministry of Education officials are expected to take disciplinary action against the principal for she violated a prohibition of involving schools in electioneering.
