The heads of the Vaad for Clean Communications paid a visit to shochtim to see if they are complying with the psak of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner Shlita, the Shevet HaLevi, regarding the internet.
The rabbonim arrived at the slaughterhouse, but not to check the shechita or knives, but to check the shochtim and their internet access. The vaad rabbonim wanted to make certain the shochtim were complying with the Shevet Halevy’s psak to distance oneself from the internet. One who absolutely must be connected must use one of the filtering services available today. “Any shochet who is connected to the tamei internet – his shechita is unacceptable” the rabbonim explain.
The delegation was led by the head of the vaad, Rabbi Aaron Feinhandler Shlita, who stands at the helm of Mosdos Yisrael. The vaad members visited Ohf Yerushalayim in the northern capital, speaking with mashgichim, shochtim and bodkei sakinim from Badatz Mehadrin, Rabbi Avrohom Rubin Shlita. The rabbonim explained they are far away from the internet and in a case of need, they only access filtered internet. A number of the rabbonim from the badatz added that in line with instructions from gedolei hador shlita, they removed the computers from their homes. The rabbonim affiliated with Badatz Mehadrin signed a declaration of compliance in response to a request from Rav Feinhandler.
Ra Feinhandler pointed out that in addition to Rav Wosner, the psak Halacha was signed by HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita and HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita.
Rav Nachum Ze’ev Rubin told vaad members that part of the badatz’s regulations is a paragraph addressing clean communications (internet) and all employees sign, agreeing to adhere to the code of ethics and badatz regulations.

Baruch Hashem teeth are being put in place to the takana that it is being adhered to.
Supervision of kashrus is in the hands of the supervising agency – if this committee was not authorized by the supervising agency, they have no business being involved. If someone doesn’t approve of an agency kashrus standards, they can shop elsewhere.
Luckily, for the entire extent of this encounter, the shochtim were able to hide their smartphones in a bucket full of cow entrails…
Oh! Aaron Feinhandler; the fellow who is trying to create and market the Kosher iPhone.
