I was just reading up about this guy running for Senate from Georgia, this guy is a out and out Anti Semite, any Jew voting for him should have his head examined.
In a May 2018 sermon at Ebenezer Baptist, Warnock said, “It’s been a tough week. The administration opened up the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. Standing there [were] the president’s family and a few mealy-mouthed evangelical preachers who are responsible for the mess that we found ourselves in, both there and here — misquoting and misinterpreting the Scripture, talking about peace. Meanwhile, young Palestinian sisters and brothers, who are struggling for their very lives, struggling for water and struggling for their human dignity, stood up in a nonviolent protest, saying, ‘If we’re going to die, we’re going to die struggling.’”
Warnock traveled in February to March 2019 to Israel and the Palestinian territories, as part of a delegation of African American clergy under the auspices of the National Council of Churches, along with clergy from the South African Council of Churches.
“We came as representatives of African American communities; as descendants of those who survived slavery, Jim Crow and who work now to dismantle the new Jim Crow of mass incarceration and militarization of police in our communities; and we came as representatives of the South African people who lived through the indignity of over 300 years of dehumanizing dispossession, colonialism, segregation and apartheid,” the delegation said afterward.
Included in that statement were references to “heavy militarization of the West Bank, reminiscent of the military occupation of Namibia by apartheid South Africa and “what appears to be an unstoppable gobbling up of Palestinian lands to almost render the proposed two-state solution unworkable.” The statement also compared Israeli security barriers to the Berlin Wall and criticized “laws of segregation that allow one thing for the Jewish people and another for the Palestinians.”November 17, 2020 2:53 pm at 2:53 pm #1920533jackkParticipantcommonseychel,
Are you working for the person who was simply appointed as senator from Georgia ? The one who is currently the wealthiest senator? The one who is being investigated for insider trading ? The one who is pals with the new QAnon representative in congress Marjorie Taylor Greene ?
Looks like it.You have selectively edited and taken out of context speeches and letters from Warnock.
This is the dirty politics that Loeffler is engaged in as she follows her hero Trump.
He lost and so will she.Warnock is not an Anti-Semite and has not made any anti-Semitic statements.
His support for Jews and Israel is unequivocal. He opposes BDS.He has been a friend to Atlanta’s Jewish community throughout his tenure at the Ebenezer Baptist Church and a regular speaker and visitor to Atlanta’s synagogues.
He stands with the Jewish community, Jewish values, and stands with Israel.
I hope he wins.

Nothing you post in the edited remarks of Reverend Warnock show him to be an anti-semite.
There are any Jews who don’t support Medinat Yisrael. Palestinians are also Semites. If you wish to portray him as anti-Israeli, than have the guts to do so. (Not that I believe it to be true).

November 17, 2020 5:36 pm at 5:36 pm #1920590charliehallParticipantI had not planned to get involved in this Georgia Senate race but after seeing the vile motzi shem ra being spouted against Rev. Warnock, I sent him a campaign contribution. He has made some statements I find problematic but he isn’t an anti-Semite, he has taken strong stands against BDS, against the use of “Apartheid” to describe Israel, and opposing those who oppose Israel’s right to exist. He also opposes conditions on US aid to Israel
Besides there is no way the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church is going to be anti-Israel or anti-Semitic. Martin Luther King, Sr. and Jr. were pastors there! The congregation would not tolerate it.
Furthermore his opponent is a filthy rich insider trading crook who wanted to force the Georgia Secretary of State to resign because the Secretary of State was insisting on an honest election count. She is as unfit for public office as is Trump.
Interesting fact: Rev. Warnock went to one of the few remaining all male colleges in the US, Morehouse College in Atlanta.

November 17, 2020 11:44 pm at 11:44 pm #1920727ZSKParticipantWow, a whole lot of carpetbaggers here pontificating about my hometown.
@jackk – I don’t know what synagogues you’re talking about, but Warnock has definitely not spoken at any of the Orthodox synagogues. Maybe the former Young Israel (which barely qualifies as Orthodox at this point). My parents or my siblings would have told me if he did. I assume you’re referring to one of the Reform and Conservative Temples or possibly one of the Chabad houses (also doubtful).
@charliehall – What a load of malarkey, to put it very mildly. Ebenezer and the overwhelming majority of the black population in Atlanta have changed since the days of MLK. As a whole, they aren’t Pro-Israel and anyone who has lived in Atlanta for more than 30 seconds knows that. The black population has tied itself to the Arabs. End of story.
As for his opponent, she’s no worse than Maxine Waters. Politics are dirty and unethical. Deal with it.
@CTLAWYER – “Palestinians are also Semites”. Are you really going down that road? Really? Especially “antisemitism” so obviously refers to Jews and is used in reference to Jews? Or are you trolling?November 18, 2020 9:04 am at 9:04 am #1920832commonsaychelParticipant@Ct Lawyer, anti Israel is the new anti semitism a/k/a anti Jew, sadly black anti Jewish sentiment is alive and well in the black community, proof the 3 Jews murdered in a hate crime in the US in 2019 were killed by Blacks.
@Jackk The only campaign who I worked on was a local assembly race that btw flipped red, Just was reading up on the Candidates and what I read about Warnock scared the daylights out of me, I check with a few of my friend who live in Atlanta and he has ZERO relationship with the Orthodox community there. He is and has been a vocal anti Israeli.
@CharlieHall, its fine I made a campaign contribution to Loeffler to counterbalance yours, I also suggest you spend some time learning hilchos Loshen Hora and the definition of motzi shem ra and toles.November 18, 2020 9:16 am at 9:16 am #1920840Ex-CTLawyerParticipant@ZSK
I am NOT a troll. I point out the misuse of words. If one wants to call Warnock: Anti-Israel, or Amti-Jewish, then have the nerve to say so, not Anti-Semite, because he is being alleged to be pro Palestinian.
Lawyers have to deal in precise words to avoid litigation and conflicty.November 18, 2020 10:26 am at 10:26 am #1920861midwesternerParticipantAmalek was a grandson of Eisav, who also descended from Shem. According to those traditions that Hitler was Amalek, would you say that one who fought against Hitler in WWII was an anti-Semite?
November 18, 2020 11:21 am at 11:21 am #1920882ZSKParticipant@CTLAWYER – I know you aren’t a troll, I was just wondering if you were trolling in your response. There’s a difference. Relax.
I’m well aware of what lawyers have to do, translators have to do the same thing.
Being from Atlanta and having a bit of knowledge regarding Ebenezer and its reverends post-MLK, I would say: He is at best apathetic. He is most likely akin to most of that population in Atlanta – borderline antisemitic and anti-Israel*. At worst, he’s both.
*There obviously are exceptions, I just don’t believe he is one of them, especially when he defends the likes of Jeremiah Wright and his compadres.

I had the pleasure/Honor to meet MLK Jr several times 50+ years ago. Warnock is no MLK.
I do not approve of clergy in Government. I was thrilled when the Pope ordered Catholic clergy out of Government and Father Drinan left Congress. My email has been non-stop requesting money to turn Georgia’s Senate delegation Blue. I had donated to Biden’s campaign because I wanted him to defeat Trump. BUT, I honestly believe states should choose their own members of the Senate, with as little outside influence and money as possible.
So, I shall not be sending money, phone banking, etc. That would just make me a ‘virtual’ caroetbagger, and this is not Reconstruction II.November 19, 2020 7:53 am at 7:53 am #1921275ubiquitinParticipantCT Lawyer
“Lawyers have to deal in precise words to avoid litigation and conflicty.”a. this isn’t a courtroom
b. You are wrong. Can you please point to a dictionary that defines “Antisemitism” to include Palestinians?
Although when it was first coined in the late 1800’s in very rare instances included other groups. today the only people who say “I can’t be an antisemite Palestinians are Semites” are themselves antisemites.November 19, 2020 7:56 am at 7:56 am #1921204ZSKParticipant@CTLAWYER –
Glad you had that opportunity. I should point out that the black population in Atlanta has its positions vis-a-vis Jews and Israel mainly out of ignorance.
I would agree with all the above with regard to clergy. I also generally oppose the existence of any religious parties in Israel. Religious MKs are fine, but religious parties? No way.
I don’t think there should be any interference in local races, period.
Reconstruction II? I don’t think this Reconstruction. However, the suggestion by various media by elitists and celebrities that people move to Georgia just to change the politics certainly smells of it and I understand those who may think of it as such.
As it happens, I haven’t voted in a US election since I moved to Israel. I won’t be voting in these special elections either – I gave up that right in exchange for not getting jury duty notices I can’t fulfill.December 20, 2020 8:50 am at 8:50 am #1930088commonsaychelParticipantTwo prominent Orthodox rabbis from Georgia are speaking out about their concerns over Rev. Raphael Warnock and past statements he has made about Israelis and Palestinians.
“We are concerned and hurt by the manner in which the Reverend brushed aside his past rhetoric against Israel and the Jewish community, and even blamed his opponents for ‘trying to use Israel as yet another wedge issue,’” Rabbi Ilan Feldman from Atlanta’s Congregation Beth Jacob and Rabbi Avigdor Slatus from Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob in Savannah wrote in a letter to the Warnock campaign this week.
Rabbi Feldman sad in an interview “This is not about politics,” he said. “This is about a danger sign.”
Specifically, Feldman said he is worried about a letter that Warnock signed in 2018 after a trip of international clergy to the Middle East. In the letter, the clergy compared the military presence of the West Bank to “military occupation of Namibia by apartheid South Africa.”
Feldman also pointed to Warnock’s 2018 sermon in which the pastor said the Israeli military shot down “unarmed Palestinian sisters and brothers like birds of prey.”
“I can’t characterize what’s in a man’s heart,” Feldman said of Warnock. “I can only say that certain comments provide a safe haven for those that do have anti-semitic views.”
But Rabbi Feldman maintained the statements Warnock made before the 2020 Senate campaign ever began are what he is focused on.
“That, to me, means more than what somebody says when they’re trying to get my vote.”December 21, 2020 11:34 am at 11:34 am #1930546smerelParticipant<i>Besides there is no way the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church is going to be anti-Israel or anti-Semitic. This is about the same as saying “there is no way a country as cultured and tolerant as Germany would engage in or tolerate such behavior”
Not to necessarily compare the circumstances.Only the sentiment.

December 21, 2020 3:24 pm at 3:24 pm #1930661torahvaluesoverpartyParticipantTo all those claiming warnocks statements were taken out of context, can you please explain the context? Warnock is a radical’s radical. Yes I get it, you wanna turn the Senate blue, but let’s be straight on that instead of you looking like fools trying to defend him. Oh btw, you guys had no problem taking trumps comments out of context(specifically his comments on Charlottesville) and utilizing them to paint trump as a racist…

December 23, 2020 1:04 am at 1:04 am #1931133charliehallParticipantWarnock is pretty far to the left, but his opponent is an even bigger extremist in the opposite direction and a crook to boot. She had a photo op with a white supremacist earlier this month and then put out a Trump like lie claiming that she didn’t know who he was — the racist’s security firm had worked for her campaign. And she did illegal insider trading earlier this year. She also refuses to acknowlege the results of the Presidential election.
There appears to be an anti-Semite in this election and it isn’t Warnock.
I am upping my contributions to Warnock’s campaign. The good news is that an A-rated polling firm released a poll today that had him up by 7. It is absolutely essential for the US government to function over the next two years that Dems win both Senate runoffs in Georgia so that Moscow Mitch McConnell is no longer able to block anything and everything.

Stop lying!
From RJC:
“Ossoff and Warnock Campaign with Anti-Israel Congressman
DECEMBER 05, 2020
Washington, DC – Today, during the Jewish Sabbath, Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff campaigned with anti-Israel, Democrat Congressman Hank Johnson (D-GA-4). The Republican Jewish Coalition released the following statement from Executive Director Matt Brooks:
Hank Johnson, Jon Ossoff’s mentor and former boss, enjoys referring to Israelis as “termites.” He used the phrase when speaking to the group called Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation – a group that supports the antisemitic BDS movement. That Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff rely on Johnson to boost their campaigns is a direct endorsement of Johnson’s bigoted statements about the citizens of the only Jewish country in the world. Calling Jews “termites” is dehumanizing and on par with the propaganda that the Nazi regime used to desensitize the German people to the eventual Holocaust.
Johnson’s use of “termite” is so troubling that the RJC made it a central point of a national ad campaign in 2016 to highlight the growing anti-Israel sentiment in the Democrat Party. This also isn’t an isolated incident. Much like Nazis and other regimes who have sought to rid the world of Jews, Johnson has accused Jews of stealing. He accused individual Israelis of simply walking into Palestinian homes and stealing those homes with impunity. That is an absolute lie, and as a Member of Congress, Johnson knows it’s a lie.”December 23, 2020 5:30 am at 5:30 am #1931206commonsaychelParticipant@Charlie Hall, please let me know how much you gave to Warnock so I can give the same amount to Loeffler, are you arrogant enough to think you have a better feel for who is more pro Israel then two local respected Rabbis? The true nature of today’s Republicans was shown today by the Trump supporters who stormed the US Capitol today — for the first time since 1814. Warnock’s opponent Loeffler was at the very same time trying to do the bidding of the terrorists inside the buiilding and Trump was saying he loved them. We should be rejoicing that the voters of Georgia rejected two grifting politicians who supported an attempted coup against America.
