SE2015: I think you very accurately characterize the problem. He is narcissistic beyond any degree we have ever seen with a world leader (including some of the worst in modern history) and is seemingly incapable of processing the meaning and effects of his words. His sick need for constant adulation restricts any ability to push back against even the most racist groups who show up with a MAGA hat. His constant denial of “knowing” anything about the hateful agendas of those whose support he accepts, from David Duke to the Proud Boys defies both logic and reality.
