I am not a De Blasio fan. But in fact no mayor ever has kowtowed as much to orthodox leadership. Now that we are ungratefully stabbing him in the back, we will never have another mayor who gives us as much heed:
He let metzitzah be peh continue.
He scuttled attempts to reform yeshiva education.
He allowed big funerals in the middle of the lockdown.
This is anti-Semitic?
By our words and actions we send the message that it doesn’t matter what you do for us. Just wait until Jumaane Williams is mayor. You will be sadly wishing for a return to the days of De Blasio.
