HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita will be taking part in the Wednesday evening, the eve of 29 Tishrei 5774 meeting in the Degel Hatorah Moetzas Gedolei Hatorah in Bnei Brak. The Kikar report cites that when the gedolim convene at 20:00, it will be the first time Rav Chaim is seated aside HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita at a council meeting.
The message heard from Bnei Brak is this is an effort to show there is one voice, that of the gedolim, in the hope of all of the chareidi litvish tzibur understanding where the voice of Torah authority comes from today.
The timing is no coincidence as the council is aware the upcoming municipal elections around the country will be critical for the entire chareidi community, particularly for Degel Hatorah.

Yawn. Rav Chaim and Rav Shteinman have ALWAYS been on the same page. They’ve always supported each other in anything and everything. This is hardly news.
Just check the archives of this website for the many times Rav Chaim stood up for Rav Shteinman’s kovod. Check anywhere with anyone. It’s always been like this. A two-way street.
the last time traditional jews had one voice was the sanhedrin. ailu ve’ailu is a yesod; a single voice is not.
IN EVERY GENERATION till recently
WITHIN A SINGLE REGION
