Kaplan Hospital’s Dr. Morris Guy on Thursday morning is listed in moderate-to-serious condition following surgery for his injuries sustained on Wednesday when an angered patient attacked him. The patient was not pleased with the medical care and decided to attack the doctor.
Dr. Guy was stabbed in his back and chest at least six times with a screwdriver and sustained internal injuries and other complications.
Following surgery, the senior physician is connected to a respirator and doctors state he is “not out of danger” at present.
Hospitals around the country are implementing sanctions in response to the alarming frequency of attacks against doctors and nurses in the nation’s medical facilities.
