Taking a break from the heavy matters of BLM, Covid 19 and solving world conflicts. Hashem created an awesome world that no human was unable to duplicate.
I was wondering what was the awe inspiring place that you have been to in the natural world.July 9, 2020 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm #1880998asimpleyidParticipanti was davening mincha at the bottom of har meron (was about to go up for lag bomer), looked up to my right and saw the most beautiful mountain ranges towering above me. absolutely gorgeous

July 9, 2020 9:20 pm at 9:20 pm #1881043The little I knowParticipantWe recite ומפליא לעשות multiple times a day. We can contemplate the greatness of הקב”ה without stepping outside as well. Do we?
Hashem created a beautiful world, with much to impress us of His greatness. If anyone has the slightest hesitation about this, open a Tehilim to פרק ק”ד, which we know as ברכי נפשי, recited on Rosh Chodesh and other times. מה רבו מעשיך ה’ כולם בחכמה עשית.
July 9, 2020 10:24 pm at 10:24 pm #1881076commonsaychelParticipantI think sunrise over the Grand Canyon and Sunset over Pacific on Big Sur were probably the most amazing views that I have seen, but waking up in a meadow in Ouray Colorado surrounded by 14000 ft. mountain ranks pretty up there too
July 10, 2020 12:24 am at 12:24 am #1881082n0mesorahParticipantI find the great outdoors to be whispering to me in a comforting way. The nighttime skies are awesome. (Even in the city. Find a secluded spot at 3 AM.) Seeing Tropical Storm Bill up close was awe inspiring to say the least.

July 10, 2020 8:48 am at 8:48 am #1881119Sam KleinParticipantIts complete Human nature to take things from this amazing world Hashem created for granted. Take something away from you for just one hour when you need it. Example your cell phone in middle of the busy working day and go back to using it an hour later. Your thanks to Hashem will be endless and unlimited. I mean the beauty of a wireless phone with internet and Wi-Fi etc…
July 10, 2020 9:29 am at 9:29 am #1881139commonsaychelParticipant@ Sam Klein, My best vacation was in Yellowstone National Park, where do to the parks nature there are no cell towers other then the service villages that are about 60 miles apart, so unless your on a satellite phone you get no cell reception, I was able to immerse myself into this awesome place Hashem created with being distracted by my phone.
July 15, 2020 11:32 am at 11:32 am #1882420WolfishMusingsParticipantAs many of you know, I have a hobby doing landscape photography.
As such, I look for places in nature that are beautiful to photograph and are awe-inspiring. Some of the incredibly beautiful places I’ve been to include:
St. John, USVI
Niagara Falls, NY
Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado
Watkins Glen, NY
Ricketts Glen, PA
Shenandoah National Park, VA
Acadia National Park, ME
Great Smoky Mountain National Park, TN/NCHowever, there is also great natural beauty to be found even in places like New York. NYC isn’t all glass, steel and concrete. There is plenty of natural beauty to be found in places like Central Park, Prospect Park, the NY and Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and the like.
HKBH’s beautiful natural world is all around us. Just go look for it.

July 16, 2020 10:50 pm at 10:50 pm #1883072Amil ZolaParticipantLook to the night skies this weekend and see some amazing wonders Hashem has created. Comet Neowise will still be visible. You will also be able to see Mars,Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury unaided.
July 17, 2020 3:05 pm at 3:05 pm #1883234WolfishMusingsParticipantI’d love to see your work. Do you share it anywhere?
As a matter of fact, I do.
If you search for my name (my real name) and just add .com after it, you’ll find my website which shows my work.
(It shouldn’t be too difficult to find my real name. It’s not too much of a secret anymore).

August 7, 2020 1:16 pm at 1:16 pm #1890333commonsaychelParticipantJust came back from a week in SW Utah, was in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Horseshoe Bend, Zion and Bryce.
There were quite a few groups of families and bucherim in fact we put together minyam mincha in North Rim, Bryce, Horseshoe Bend and Zion.
Glad to see we are expending our horizons beyond New Hampshire, Poconos, Jiminy Peak and the Catskills.August 8, 2020 11:14 pm at 11:14 pm #1890462GadolhadorahParticipantCommonsaychel: Did you fly to LV and drive up or drive all the way to avoid flying. I’m still reluctant to get on an airplane before vaccines although I may have to bite the bullet for a work trip next month. Agreed that SW Utah area is incredible area for hiking and sightseeing and generally less crowded than some of the other national and state parks.
August 9, 2020 9:54 am at 9:54 am #1890511commonsaychelParticipant@Gadol, Yes I flew out to LV and drove 2.5 hours to Kanab Utah out flight had at least 50 bucherim on it.
I and my entire family are antibody positive so I was not fixated on getting covid, in fact if I would have driven to Utah instead of flying chances of me getting into a car crash vs me getting corona was significantly higher.Hate to break it but those parks are amongst the busiest in the system, Grand Canyon ranks as second busiest, Zion as fourth and Bryce as twelfth, and all of them were packed.
You have to wear a mask from the time you enter the terminal until your in your rental vehicle unless your eating or drinking, so I made to eat and drink a lot. -
