But statues of Robert E LEe are not put up to commemorate how great he was that he gave Matza n or or Statues of FDR put uop to commeorate how well he dealt with Asian-Americans during WW2. the bottom line is Statues of Confederate generals are put up SOLELY to commemorate/glorify their role in a revolt against the US. A revolt that was largely fueled by racisim.
