President Trump said during a statement in the Rose Garden on Monday that he is “taking immediate action” and “mobilizing all available federal resources” to stop riots and looting across the country, threatening to deploy the military if states don’t send in the National Guard to protests.
“I have recommended every governor deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers to dominate the streets,” the president said during his speech. “We are ending riots and lawlessness, we will end it today.”
Trump said he is dispatching “thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers and military personnel” to stop the rioting.
“I want organizers of this terror to be on notice that you will face severe criminal penalties,” he said.
“We cannot allow the righteous cries of peaceful protesters to be drowned out by an angry mob,” the president added. “The biggest victims of this rioting are peace-loving citizens in our poorest communities.”

What would happen if Trump would balance his response with some sympathy and empathy for how George Floyd died. i e. “Its terrible how he died, but we don’t loot and set fires.” Some validation might go a long way. How about sympathy with strength?
Finding the balance of empowering police to be able to do their job while at the same time denouncing what chauvin did to Floyd is what I would expect would work to calm the country. We need to feel safe in that police won’t kill petty thieves,no matter if they are from a minority group, and at the same time need to know that police will be empowered to act with strength and force when necessary.
How can you not appreciate what he’s doing versus the spineless demorats
Trump is the right leader for these chaotic times.
In the liberal led cities, the leaders are happy to let the rioters riot freely because the rioters are their voting block and they don’t want to anger them. So the leaders don’t care if decent working people can’t survive there because they don’t need them to vote them in. That is why many of the largest cities in America are falling apart because the entire premise of democratic government is being destroyed. Honest working people will flee these cities as is happening in New York because it is no longer safe and criminals and mail in phantom voters will throw the election to them.
This trend is very dangerous to America and when the Socialists take over they destroy the economy and the country. Take a look at Venezuela which once was a beautiful and prosperous country. When he came into power he promised all sorts of treasures to the common people and they went for it hook, line and sinker. Chavez proceeded to put his cronies in charge of the oil business which they quickly destroyed and left the country bankrupt.
Take an example from AOC who killed the Amazon deal for her area.
DeBlasio will always take the side of the rioters because they are his voting base and why New York is losing population because normal working people are not important. That’s why in all the liberal areas radical Leftists are taking over and destroying their cities.
The Leftist colleges add their venom by poisoning the minds of their students with unreal dreams of socialist nirvana.
Decent society can’t survive the total breakdown of law and order mandated by the current radical leadership
Can send any troops unless the governors of the the states ask.
An unfortunate example was New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. People blamed the Federal Government for not sending help soon enough, but the Fed couldn’t because the governor refused to ask for the help.
There is no precedent for sending in regular army soldiers to suppress a riot. That is the job of the states. So if Andrew Cuomo has no problem with rioters destroying his state, and no federal laws are being violated, it is a matter for the voters of New York to deal with (n.b. a factor leading to his father losing his job was his refusal to end the Crown Height pogrom). Trump could refuse to offer financial assistance to New York to pay for damages on the grounds they were self-inflicted, but trying to declare martial law over the state objections would be unconstitutional. If the rioters targeted any protect class of persons (e.g. Jews) or attacked Federal property (e.g. the Federal courthouse or a military base), and only then, would their be a basis for Federal armed intervention in spite of state toleration of the riot (cf. President Eisenhower sending in the regular army to desegregate schools when the state refused to comply with an order from a federal court, acting to enforce a constitutional right).
This warning is more than bluster. The Insurrection Act gives the president the authority, if the governors refuse to use appropriate force to put these riots down, to do so himself. He has to give them the chance first. If they turn it down, he can act. And this is an exception to Posse Comitatus, so they can’t appeal to that.
