I need to get something off my chest. Why are some people not listening to rules?
It looks so bad and creates a massive chilul HaShem among the rest of the population.
The goyishe newspaper should not have to report us and photograph us doing things that we were told not to do. No gatherings. 200 people at a Lag Baomer Hadlaka? Why does the police have to come and break up a gathering that was not supposed to take place. It looks really bad.May 13, 2020 5:38 pm at 5:38 pm #1860326n0mesorahParticipantDear Doodle,
They view themselves as revolutionaries that have access to the real facts. (Not all of them think of themselves as better people for revolting.)May 14, 2020 11:27 am at 11:27 am #1860599Accuracy and HonestyParticipantActually, people ARE listening to the rules. The fact that a small, teeny-tiny fraction (100’s out of MANY hundreds of thousands) did not listen does not mean that people, in general, are not listening to the rules. Please do not get thrown by YWN’s fake news. They need to do tshuva.

May 14, 2020 2:08 pm at 2:08 pm #1860700History BuffParticipantBTW, I agree with Accuracy and Accuracy that most people are listening to the rules. The mystery is why some people for religious reasons don’t listen to the major Rabbeim and Poskim.
May 14, 2020 5:47 pm at 5:47 pm #1860825Reb EliezerParticipant“Everything that makes these communities so beautiful is likely a factor that puts them at risk in this situation,” Mr. Seligson said. “To really understand how the virus is spreading within these communities, one really needs to understand how these communities operate on a regular basis.”
He said the community was vulnerable to the virus not because of isolated incidents of rule-breaking but instead because of the very things that make it vibrant: tight-knit families, a commitment to ritual and multi-generational households where the very young and very old live side by side.May 14, 2020 5:51 pm at 5:51 pm #1860828n0mesorahParticipantDear History,
Maybe that should be despite physical……….. The way it is written, I would not call it emunah as much as mental fortitude. That may answer the mystery.May 15, 2020 8:32 am at 8:32 am #1860965n0mesorahParticipantThis is why there should be (At this point, have been.) no minyanim at all. They were getting into trouble the whole time, and did not have the proper morals to act respectfully. If all the leaders would have said no minyanim now we have to focus on other things, the outliers would clearly be outsiders.
