A joint effort involving the Meuchedet HMO and Ichud Hatzalah led to the establishment of the urgent care medical clinic at Kever Rashbi in Meron with the realization some 2 million people visit the site annually. The clinic is manned by a non-Jewish physician on Shabbos and Yomtov, round-the-clock, providing immediate care to visitors in need. On Rosh Hashanah one of the patients included a child bitten by a snake. The child was treated and transported to a local hospital.
With a physician on site together with the well equipped facility, in most cases, transport to a hospital is not necessary.
Over 55 people were seen on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, including a wide array of traumatic and medical issues. Since the clinic was opened on Lag B’Omer 5773, over 600 people have been treated.
