The following information pertains to transportation arrangements in, to and from Yerushalayim for Sukkos 5774.
To the Kosel: 1 and 3 lines:
They will operate on chol hamoed from Ramat Shlomo, Ramot, N’vei Yaakov, Har Nof, Givat Shaul and Bayit Vegan.
On Sunday through Tuesday at: 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 and on motzei Shabbos and motzei first day Sukkos at 21:30.
111 line:
On chol hamoed, Sunday through Tuesday from Teddy parking lot to the Kosel. From Teddy: 07:00-22:00. From the Kosel: 08:00-23:00.
333 line:
On chol hamoed from Shmuel HaNavi (HaEven bus stop) to the Kosel. From the Kosel the line stops at Har Chotzvim and has connecting lines to other buses. Sunday through Tuesday: 16:00-24:00.
To Bnei Brak: 402 line:
From 14-22 Tishrei there will be express stops in addition to the regular service. For additional information, phone *8787.
To the Machpelah: 160 line:
Leaving during chol hamoed from Binyanei Ha’uma lower parking area – this refers to Sunday and Monday chol hamoed Sukkos only. From Yerushalayim: 09:00-17:00 and from Hebron 11:00-22:00.
** One must buy a roundtrip ticket.
** One taking the 160 line from the central bus station will only get as far as Kiryat Arba, not the Machpelah.
To Modi’in Illit:
From Sunday through Tuesday chol hamoed Sukkos, service will extend until 01:00.
To Elad:
On 15, 16, 18, 19, and 22 Tishrei, service on the 277 line from Jerusalem to Elad will continue until 01:00. From Elad to Yerushalayim, service until 23:30.
To Betar Illit:
On Sukkos, 15-22 Tishrei, bus service will continue until 01:00.
ROAD CLOSURES:
On chol hamoed Sukkos, (September 20, 2013-September 25, 2013) the following streets will be closed to private vehicles.
· Derech Hebron from Miriam HaChashmonit Street towards the Old City
· Route 1: From National Police Headquarters to the Old City
· Agron Street: in the direction of Mamilla
· Chativat Yerushalayim: in both directions
· Old City will be closed to all private vehicles with the exception of residents with permits.
On 20 Tishrei (24 Sept.) to accommodate the Jerusalem March, streets in the center of the city will be closed from 13:00-18:00.
· Park and ride lots may be found in: Pisgat Ze’ev, Ammunition Hill, and Har Herzl. There is no charge for parking in these lots for those using public transportation.
Jerusalem Light Rail:
Train service will be increased however significant crowding is to be expected. Riders are urged to fill their rider cards before yomtov.
Drivers with Disabled permits:
A driver with a valid disabled driving permit will be able to enter the Old City via Shar Tzion (Zion Gate) from Derech Hebron/David Remez ONLY.
Large vehicles with disabled permits will be brought into the Old City via Shimon HaTzaddik (Wadi Joz) to Shar Ha’ashpos (Dung Gate).
