Speaking to Yediot Achronot, outgoing Israel Air Force Chief Major-General Eliezer Shkedy stated that if the present realities continue, “an aggressive IDF operation in Gaza” may be unavoidable.

Shkedy stated that Israel is aware that 1,000 terrorists from Gaza are now training in Lebanon, Syria and Iran towards fighting with Israel. Regarding ongoing rocket attacks, he stated the terrorists are improving the range of rockets and it will not be long until a larger area in Israel is within strike range.
