Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu refused a request from UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab for ventilators last week, a Channel 13 News report said.
The request came when Raab was standing in for Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he lay ill in the ICU after contracting the coronavirus.
Several UK companies requested ventilators from Israel but all were turned down due to legislation advanced by Economy Minister Eli Cohen banning the export of ventilators from Israel. Raab appealed to Netanyahu for an exemption but the latter explained that Israel needs the ventilators for its own citizens.
The report added that Spain had also requested ventilators from Israel and had ordered 30 of them before their export was banned but Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz refused the request.

It should say that he was ‘had to turn down’ or that he did not have enough to share.
I’m sure he would have jumped at the opportunity to help the UK, had he been in a position to do so.
