SECURITY/DEFENSE:
*Wanted senior Islamic Jihad terrorist Amar Abu-Alun was taken into custody by an undercover IDF unit on Sunday.
*2 Sudanese nationals wounded by Egyptian security forces as they attempted to enter into Israel on Monday. They were targeted by gunfire as they tried crawling under barbed wire.
*A number of Kassam rockets and mortars were fired into the Greater Sderot area on Monday. No injuries.
POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:
*Opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday once again called on the Shas Party to leave the government coalition, explaining PM Olmert no longer has a mandate to run the country.
*Cleared for release: Police over recent weeks arrested residents of Shuafat Refugee Camp alleged to have dealt in weapons trading with residents of PA areas. Shuafat is on Jerusalem’s northern area near Ramat Shlomo.
*Police of the International Crimes Unit on Monday questioned Arkadi Gaydamak who is suspected of money laundering through an Israeli bank account. Gaydamak accuse police of hounding him because he launched his own political party.
*Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini referred to Hizbullah and Hamas as the most “noble” and “popular” groups in the area. His comments came in response to recent remarks made by US President George W. Bush while in the region.
*Kadima MK David Tal denies holding talks to join Arkadi Gaydamak’s party, adding that in the next election, he may not run under Kadima slate.
*Speaking to a Kadima faction forum, PM Olmert stated “zero hour” is approaching, telling party colleagues the current situation in southern Israel cannot continue for much longer.
*Shas calling for increase in monthly child allowance to compensate for increase in food prices.

Shuafat is not a refugee camp!!!
It is a huge city a cross the valley from Ramat Eshkol. Its right next to french hill… they are building new apartments there… Its an arab community!! Lets set that straight!! There are no refugee camps.
