Bus driver Edward Gelfund, 44, from Petach Tikvah, was at the wheel in December 2008 when his bus crashed on the way to Eilat, resulting in 24 deaths.

The Beersheva District Court handed down a guilty verdict in the case, convicting Geldfund of manslaughter after investigators ruled he acted irresponsibly, causing the fatal accident.

Investigators reported that he passed another bus on a curvy portion of road with limited visibility. He lost control of his vehicle passing on the curve and the bus drove into a ravine.
