The Knesset summer session gets underway on Monday in the shadow of criminal investigations against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
Olmert may face a serious multi-count criminal indictment that includes charges of fraud, breech of trust and accepting bribes. His preoccupation with the ongoing investigation against him, coupled with his increasingly coalition tensions and growing opposition in his own Kadima Party place significant doubt is lawmakers will be able to address the many pressing issues facing the country before the MKs break for summer recess.
