Well besides cleaning. Our local hospital is short on masks, in the last five days over 1000 masks have been sewn by community members. (Not to worry they all get sterilized before being put into service.)

STAY AT HOME. Your live and the lives of others may depend on it.

March 26, 2020 10:57 pm at 10:57 pm #1843644🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantWasing dishes, baking, washing dishes, cooking, washing dishes.
March 26, 2020 10:57 pm at 10:57 pm #1843645🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantSeriously tho, i am washing a lot of dishes but I’m also trying to take care of all the eyesores that I bemoanednot having time to take care of. Like getting rid off toys, books, clothes etc that we’veall outgrown. I know if i let it go I’ll regret it. Also bake once a day, bad idea but it perks everyone up. We’ve done our share of jigsaw puzzles and there’s also audio books.
In other words…Everything except schoolwork 🙄March 26, 2020 11:33 pm at 11:33 pm #1843648Sam KleinParticipantSerious teshuva with fasting
Learning with your children
Getting ready for Pesach in all ways from cleaning to kashering to cooking to shopping etc….
March 27, 2020 10:33 am at 10:33 am #1843711Little FroggieParticipantSam: the question was what are you doing while at home, not what I can do. (I don’t suppose you’re learning with my children..)
If you want to fast from today till next doomsday it’s fine with me, or most people, don’t spew your contorted ideas on others… Yes, everyone knows its a time for teshuva, no need to cash in on it (like every time something happed…) There are true Gedolim who we follow, who we listen to… No one call for fasting – actually REAL Gedolim stated to the contrary – one should absolutely NOT fast in a time like this.
March 27, 2020 2:49 pm at 2:49 pm #1843795GadolhadorahParticipantIs anyone setting up their live streaming of their sedorim with mishpacha who are self-quarantining (assuming they can get an opinion from their rav that such a zoom arrangement is OK if all the settings and computers are positioned before yom tov and they do not make any adjustments. even if the connection goes down).
March 27, 2020 2:49 pm at 2:49 pm #1843796charliehallParticipantWorking as hard as I ever have in my career.

March 27, 2020 4:39 pm at 4:39 pm #1843916sarirayParticipantTrying to keep my Kids from killing each other while trying to keep my home in some semblance of order while trying to feed everyone eight times a day while trying to organize and clean for pesach and trying to have my kids call in their teleconferences while trying to also rest as much as possible because I’m recovering from corona and am weak and having some lingering breathing issues. Seriously. All of it. Oh, and trying to not lose my sanity. Oh, and online shopping don’t forget that…
March 27, 2020 5:15 pm at 5:15 pm #1843948Abba_SParticipantMaybe Sam Klein is learning with other people’s children
March 27, 2020 5:16 pm at 5:16 pm #1843947Abba_SParticipantLittle Frog why do you assume Sam Klein is talking about you and not talking about himself.
March 29, 2020 8:13 pm at 8:13 pm #1844514LightbriteParticipantPuzzles puzzles puzzles!
March 30, 2020 8:34 am at 8:34 am #1844695yldParticipantlightbritde, What type of puzzles are you suggesting?
March 31, 2020 9:42 pm at 9:42 pm #1845453LightbriteParticipantThus far, the Thomas Kinkade 1000 piece puzzle (Buffalo brand) that I completed was by far the hardest. I just started a Charles Wysocki puzzle by the same manufacturer. This brand, thus far from my experience, has the trickiest-shaped pieces.
My last puzzle was a MB brand 1000 piece puzzle. The coating on the pieces made it far more superior, but in terns of a challenge, this puzzle wasn’t as challenging (and all the pieces were more or less rectangular).
I haven’t tried any puzzles under or over 1000 pieces. As far as I’ve seen, some puzzles with over 1000 pieces are too large for me to place on a piece of furniture (sideboard).
Also… I did by the Stow and Go to put away the puzzle when I need a puzzle break, but have not used it yet (it’s mainly a piece of felt, which makes it difficult (read “impossible”) to slide pieces around).
March 31, 2020 9:43 pm at 9:43 pm #1845454LightbriteParticipantAlthough recommending this site will result in less stock (theoretically), fyi you can find some good deals for new 1000 piece puzzles on eBay 🙂
As far as safety, I’ve been spraying the exterior packages (and puzzle boxes too) with Lysol and let them sit for a few days.
Target had some good puzzles by me, and the good news is that the store has been getting more puzzles in stock weekly. However, the last time that I went to the store (when I also needed food), all of their adult (over 300 pieces) puzzles were sold out. Hence, I’ve been scrounging around online.
Btw, my friend saw some puzzles at Joann Fabrics the other day, but I didn’t ask her how many pieces in a box.
March 31, 2020 10:13 pm at 10:13 pm #1845546GoldilocksParticipantLightbright, it’s nice to know we share a hobby. I’m currently in middle of a Thomas Kinkade Disney collage with 2,000 pieces. I actually started it last Pesach and have been working on it on and off over the summer and winter…and now I’m finally starting to see some progress. I wish there was some way to show you a photo of where I’m at…what’s your puzzle a picture of?
April 29, 2020 8:31 pm at 8:31 pm #1855078srulikParticipantMy wife did a Jewish Paint by number from dreamjudaica.com was great. Kept her busy while stuck at home. Good for older kids also.
