Israel: No Public Transportation On Weekends, Past 8 P.M.

Israel’s Transportation Ministry announced on Tuesday it was decreasing public transportation in light of the Health Ministry’s tightened restrictions on the Israeli public.

Public transportation, including buses, light rail and trains will stop on Tuesday at 10 p.m. but beginning on Wednesday will stop at 8 p.m. every night. There will be no public transportation on weekends – transportation will stop at 8 p.m. on Thursday and begin again on Sunday morning.

The ministry added that some lines would be stopped altogether, such as those to entertainment areas or those heavily used by students traveling to schools and universities, which are currently closed.
