I was hesitant at first to vote in the WZO election, after all, us Ehrlicher Yidden have been denouncing Zionism as a movement that’s anti Torah since it began & I still do. The stakes are high & I have decided that If Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky strongly encourages us to vote & that Rav Gershon Edelstein has concurred then this is what we should be doing. My wife & I both voted for the Eretz Hakodesh slate & I feel very comfortable following the opinion of the most senior manhigei Hador. March 11 is the last day to vote so the time to decide is now! You’ll be getting busy with the Mitzvos of Purim & will forget to cast your vote for the future of Klal Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel. If you plan on voting then please don’t delay to the last minute. I have no affiliation with Eretz Hakodesh.

“I have no affiliation with Eretz Hakodesh.”

Yes that was clear in your first sentence. (” Ehrlicher Yidden have been denouncing Zionism as a movement that’s anti Torah since it began & I still do.” )

Even if the “Eretz Hakodesh” slate gets its best case scenario outcome, it’ll control only 50 out of 150 US slots in in the WZO Congress. And the 150 American slots is out of 750 WZO Congress seats. So the best win for E.HK. is still way too small for them to do anything positive.

Imagine those 50 slots become occupied by anti religious reform candidates (probably non Jews)& Jstreet. Aren’t we better off keeping them out? Don’t let perfect ruin the good.

Haimy! If u voted because “Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky strongly encourages us to vote & that Rav Gershon Edelstein has concurred” then u can dispute the charge because R gershon holds like almost all other gedolim that you can’t be matir it
This can be easily verified by calling his gabaim In Eretz Yisrael as I did. (Originally their was a video saying he said to vote but it was removed when it was discovered it was regarding the Israeli elections
It is very clear as laid out by Rav aron Feldman’s letter that (and many other gedolim have said) Rav Chaim was not presented with the true facts at all or he never would have been matir what was assured in the strongest terms by by all gedolim from the Chofetz Chaim till Rav Elyashiv zt”l

    Joseph:
There are only 500 seats in the WZO Congress, not 750. Maybe do some of your own research instead of relying on fake news you see on blogs.

LY: 50 out of 500 is still powerless.

If R Aharon Feldman believes that R. Chaim got all the facts wrong why wouldn’t he just represent what he believes are the facts and see what R. Chaim really holds? It seems that R. Aharon Feldman is also basing his opinion on Joseph’s false sources that America only gets 150 out of 750 delegates. (the correct amount is actually 500 total delegates) . The orthodox have the capability of getting much more than 50 delegates. If they get out the vote today every vote will make a much bigger impact than in any election you will ever vote in (especially if you vote republican in a blue state)

Whether it is 500 or 750 is immaterial. Even all 150 Americans out of the 500 total still cannot overrule the majority.

Additionally no slate, out of the ten or so odd American competing slates, will get even a majority of just the American 150.

But, again, there’s no way the American slate can overrule the overall majority.

I’m not here to tell anyone which Gadol to follow. I saw a video of Rav Shmuel Fuerst of Chicago (Who a talmid of Rav Shmuel Kaminetzky) stating that Rav Shmuel strongly encourages that we vote & that Rav Gershon said that Rav Shmuel is the final deiah in America. The political situation in E.Y is quite dangerous right now for the Chareidi tzibbur. My point is that there are enough senior manhigei yisroel like Rav Elya Brudny, Rav Shmuel, Rav Asher Weiss, supporting this that a sincerely Frum Yid can proudly take a stand & vote. My hope is that only good comes out of this campaign & that eventually even those opposed to voting will later agree it was right in hindsight. There’s only one day left to vote, please make up your mind either way & decide before it’s too late. Sitting back & doing nothing because your unsure who to follow while the yishuv is in a sakonah is not a responsible response. Ask you Rav or RH”Y & do what’s right for you.

Rabbi Fuerst’s video is the reason I will not vote. When he explains why he opines to vote, it is clear he is being misinformed. He quotes Reb Gershon, when we now know Reb Gershom never agreed one should vote. He explains that the money is going to go to Yeshivas and Kollelim, when we know that this is not at all true. He also quotes a very unreliable website as a source of his information.

If you read Reb A. Feldmans letter, how he describes how people are deliberately misleading Rabonim, you will understand Rabbi Feurst is ione iof those Rabonim Reb Ahron was referring to.

I am actually a candidate on a different slate, but I am incredibly excited that more charedim are declaring themselves to be Zionist and voting in the WZC elections! Today is the last day!
