Democratic candidate for Mayor and former New York City Comptroller Bill Thompson released the following statement today expressing support for and solidarity with the Jewish community in New York and around the world. Just yesterday, rockets were fired into Israel from neighboring Lebanon:
“As we approach Rosh Hashanah, my family and I join with the Jewish community around the world in praying for peace. Once again, Israel has been targeted by terrorists lobbing rockets at civilians. And once again, New Yorkers are united support of our friends in Israel. I’ve been proud to stand with Israel and democracy throughout my career and I’m proud to continue standing with Israel today.”

Pirki Avot Chapter 2, # 3
Be careful with the government, for they befriend a person only for their own needs. They appear to be friends when it is beneficial to them, but they do not stand by a person at the time of his distress.
Look up pandering in the dictionary and you’ll find a picture of thompson.
Proud to stand with Israel? – There went the Williamsburg vote …
Dear Mr. Bill Thompson its very nice of you to stand up for Israel , but the real important role of yours is what your ready to do for Jews in NY, the present administration is fighting Judaism because a jew not following jewish tradition hates others who follow, you don’t have that problem so you can understant Jewish tradition and try to help jews keep their traditions.
