Jewish Man Hit By Rock Near Hizme Checkpoint Moderately Injured


On Wednesday afternoon a Jewish driver was injured by a rock that was thrown at his vehicle near the Hizme checkpoint in northern Yerushalayim.

According to reports, the man kept driving until he reached the Russian Compound near the Old City where he called for emergency services after feeling ill.

United Hatzalah volunteers who treated him at the Russian Compound said that he was moderately injured and had collapsed by his vehicle.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Yechiel Stern was one of the first responders at the scene and relayed: “When I arrived at the scene I found a car that had been pelted with stones and a driver who had collapsed next to the car and required medical attention. Together with other EMS volunteers who arrived, I provided medical treatment for the man’s injuries at the scene before he was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment. He suffered injuries to his head and upper body. The driver said that he was injured in a rock-throwing incident near the Hizme junction and kept driving until he reached the Russian Compound where he began to feel ill and collapsed.”
