While D.A. Hynes refused to repudiate his campaign’s baseless lies attacking Ken Thompson’s commitment to the Jewish community, it’s Hynes who has said that Orthodox Jews are insular, vigilantes, and worse than the Mafia.
FACT: On multiple occasions, Hynes has said Orthodox Jews are worse than the Mafia: “The level of intimidation is not found nearly as much in organized crime, it’s extraordinary how relentless these people can be.”
FACT: While Ken Thompson has been endorsed by Dov Hikind and Congressman Jerry Nadler, DA Hynes has called Orthodox Jews “insular communities” that are worse than the Mafia.
Hynes: “I compare it to the Mafia, but at least in Mafia cases we can offer victims witness protection. That does not work in these insular communities, where it is more difficult to leave behind friends and family and go into hiding.”
FACT: DA Hynes compared a Jewish civilian patrol group in Crown Heights to vigilantes
Hynes: “You can’t have a group, whether it’s the Bloods, Crips or Shmira, acting like vigilantes,” Mr. Hynes told The New York Jewish Week last month.

Thompson is an anti-semite who accused Hynes of being too nice to the Jews. Thompson said Hynes shows favoritism to the Orthodox.
No Bogen, Thompson has no history of anti-semitsm, and in fact he’s been pretty nice to the frum community, really lent help back in 2010 that resulted in a lot for funds for programs in Boro Park and Williamsburg, he is good for us. Hynes was at one time nice to the frum community but he has been co-opted by anti-frum organizations run the the renegades who want nothing more that to destroy the frum community, and Hynes had been doing their bidding because it gets him good press in the Times and Jewish Week, because he only cares about the secular jews and hates our community. He though he didn’t need us anymore and tried to throw us to the curb, now he realizes he needs us again, so he’s back to groveling and lying, but as soon as the election is over he’ll stab us in the back again
