Vallone Pays Respects To The Rebbe in Cambria Heights

vNYC Council Member and Queens Borough President Candidate Peter F. Vallone Jr. visited the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in Cambria Heights.

Vallone travelled to pay his respects as well as learn more about the Rebbe.

While there Vallone met with Rabbi Abba Refson, Director of Chabad at the Ohel, and discussed the legacy of the Rebbe, the importance the Ohel has on the community and the significance of faith.

Being a religious man Vallone also expressed great appreciation of the people who travel from far and wide to say a prayer at the Rebbe’s final resting place.

  1. Where are the crowds that are usually there when I am? After so many years on the city council did he just realize the importantance of the Rebbe? Is this an election year? I wonder…….

  2. And also Vallone being a good Christian certainly understands the concept of believing in a Messiah who’s not among the living so there’s no awkwardness in that area.

  3. Comment #1 was not necessary – sometimes I read the comments and cringe from the immaturity and the meanness – the lack of foresight into just posting something, no matter how irrelevant or irreverent.

I’ve been to the Ohel and it is a holy place – on a typical day one can see Yidden from every imaginable hashkafa – nationality and need!

  4. Furhatone,
Firstly any smart person realizes that I was being satirical in referring to the movement that foolishly believes that the man who is buried in that ohel is Mashiach. Secondly by stating “yidden of every imaginable hashkafa” you are including yidden with hashkofos that were k’neged the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s ways & certainly k’neged the sad reality of todays leaderless misguided Mishichists.
