How was the Siyum at Barclays Center?

I thought part of the live programming was supposed to originate from Barclays, but it seemed the entire program originated from MetLife.

Another point is that the speaker system at MetLife seemed to be uneven in different areas of the stadium and sometimes not the best clarity.

Additionally, whoever was controlling the video feed at MetLife seemed to be having too much fun cutting away from the speakers very frequently to show random shots in the stadium rather than keeping the focus on the speaker. Furthermore, the electronic signage/advertising bars around the stadium kept flashing distracting and frequently changing messages, taking away from whatever the speaker was trying to focus on.

Joseph, Where you at Barkley’s Siyum? I assume not since much of the program orginated from there. Several Rabbayim spoke from there and several singers. There was equal representation.

Most of the program and main speakers were live streamed from MetLife but part of the program was live in Barclays starting with Mincha and tehillim. Rabbi Benoliel reciting the hadran on shisha sidrei mishna, Siyum of Mesevhta Niddah, Harav Yerucham Olshin reciting the hadran on Mesechta Niddah and Talmud Yerushalmi,Harav Elya Brudny saying the kaddish, Singing and dancing, everyone was invited to come down to the arena floor at that time, and Maariv.

    There were 2 different programs

At Metlife Everything was live. Nothing was broadcast from Barclays

At Barclays much of it was live (obviously with different presenters) but some was broadcast from metlife (Like Rabbi Frand)

Did anyone else have the same reaction when they played the brief video of Reb Chaim’s baracha for those attending the siyum? He looked really frail, which is understandable given his age but was still able to respond.

The Met-Life video feed was excellent and the cutaways for some occasional “color commentary” was OK in my opinion and conveyed several anecdotal stories about families coming together around the daf yomi theme. Overall, the positives on an event of this scale far outweigh the negatives.

Kol hakovod to Agudah, Hatzalah and all the other mosdos who made this possible.

For obvious reasons there weren’t video shots of the varbeshe sections of the stadium but for those who were there, was there a good female turnout?

joseph: it was better because Barclays had the rosh yeshiva of mir say the kaddish (even though he isnt wealthy). Also the dancing was much better than MetLife because it included the whole crowd on the floor of the arena. Downside: the air conditioning was pumping (maybe they wanted Barclays to feel like its MetLife) and it was too cold. another downside: the rebbe who read tehillim made a complete mockery of it.

Did Barclays have a completely different set of speakers or did they simply simulcast the speakers from MetLife?

they had their own program which included its own tefilla, tehillim, siyumim (kids and shas) dancing and some speakers. a good chunk of the speeches from metlife was simulcast into barclays.

Which live speakers did Barclays have, other than the mesayim and tefilos/Tehilim?
