PHOTO: Dead Shark Found On NYC Subway

New York City’s transit authority says a conductor found a small dead shark aboard a subway train in Queens on Wednesday.

The conductor asked passengers to leave the car and closed it off. The train continued to the end of the line, and then a supervisor placed the shark in a garbage bag and put it in the trash.

Transit officials say they were aware of the photos but are making no effort to find the person who posted them. The transit authority says it has “better things to do.”

The following is from the MTA:

Around 12:30 am last night, the conductor aboard a Ditmars-bound N train at Queensboro Plaza reported that there was a shark aboard the train in car #8994. The conductor isolated the car and the train proceeded to Ditmars Boulevard terminal. Upon arrival at Ditmars Boulevard, a Train Service Supervisor reported the shark was dead and he placed it in a garbage bag and disposed of it in the trash. The Road Car Inspector on duty at Ditmars Blvd. normalized the car and returned the train to customer service.

  1. It must have fallen out of a shopping bag of someone who had just been to that new store, Sharks ‘R’ Us.

And, of course, let’s not forget, this whole thing smells fishy.
