Israel TV 12 News reported that if there is another Knesset election declared, Chairman of the Blue & White party, MK Benny Gantz, told persons close to him that he will not agree to a rotating premiership with MK Yair Lapid as is the case today.
The report states that Gantz feels that this must be the last election and a government must be formed, perhaps aware the chareidi parties will not entertain entering into a coalition government with him for as long as it includes Lapid. Lapid has been declared persona non grata by the chareidi legislators, who accuse Lapid of being a source and significant component of the increasing opposition to the chareidim in Israel.
Both Lapid and Gantz responded to the report stating they are not dealing with the matter of the premiership rotation at this time.
One is reminded Blue & White is made up of three parties; the Israel Resilience (Chosen Yisrael) party headed by Gantz, the Yesh Atid party headed by Lapid and the Telem party headed by MK Moshe Ya’alon.
