The Jerusalem District Prosecutor has filed an indictment against a daycare center caretaker who was working in a facilty in the Ramot neighborhood. The woman is charged with physical abuse and negligence, including leaving a 1-year-old child alone, without any supervision, in the private daycare center.

According to the indictment, in July 2019, she left the baby alone in the kitchen without supervision, at which time he poured floor cleaner and oven cleaner on him. The products were in a closet next to the sink.

At some point, the worker found the child on the counter, sitting in a pool of the cleaning products while crying. She washed him off and changed his clothing and then placed him in his crib for a nap. She did not inform the parents or call for any medical professional to check the child’s condition.

At 4:15PM, the child’s mom arrived to take him. She saw burns over his body and rushed him to an emergency room. The child required medical care including hospitalization and pharmaceutical therapy.
