Shai (Shomron-Yehuda) police report issuing 99 summonses for improper use of a cellphone while driving a vehicle in areas of Yehuda and Shomron.

Israel Police officials report this issuing of the summonses for use of the cellphones was part of an operation cracking down on vehicular violations that endanger the lives of other motorists. Police report that the department’s traffic enforcement unit issued 840 summonses in the past week, including:

• The suspension of 23 licenses of drivers for serious violations.
• 22 vehicles were taken off the road due to serious safety issues.
• 99 summonses issued for improper use of a cellphone while driving.
