Following the recent attack against a family in southern Tel Aviv by Eritreans in the area, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein announced he will accept an invitation to visit the area.

Over recent years that area known as the “old central bus station” or N’vei Sha’anan has become home to many aliens from Sudan and Eritrea. Local residents lament the fact these unwanted individuals have “overrun” the community and today, it is pikuach nefesh to walk in the area.

Weinstein announced he plans to visit on Monday evening 29 Menachem Av 5773 to get a better look at today’s reality. He has already met with local leaders, telling them that the law can and will deal with the situation towards restoring law and order for area residents. He cautioned however that while the situation will be addressed there is not magical instant solution.
