Likud MKs Express Dismay at Being Formally Asked To Attend Planned Protests Against the Attorney General

Chani Bleiweiss, Office Administrator of the Likud Chairman, issued a request to all MKs and Ministers of the Likud to attend a protest against Attorney General’s actions towards the Prime Minister scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Israel Museum in Tel Aviv. During the protest, it is expected that there will be plenty of rhetoric against the Attorney General and against the District Attorney’s Office.

Many of the Ministers and MKs, who do not feel comfortable attending such a protest have already replied that they will not be in attendance.

One high-ranking Likud MK said: “the request for us to attend puts us in a position where we are going to be considered dis-loyal if we refuse to attend a protest whose very purpose does not sit well with us. It was a bad idea and causes a deeper problem.”

While Netanyahu and those close to him are expected to attend the protest on Tuesday, many Likud MKs are not planning to attend. Netanyahu is pushing that as many people as possible attend to show their disappointment with the decisions made by the Attorney General’s office.

  1. Honestly I’m disgusted at Netanyahu’s behavior -it’s not befitting & if the indictment would have been against one of his enemies, he would be praising the system & the Attorney General. He should focus his energies on working quietly with his legal team and not turn the public into a pawn in order to stay out of jail.
Maybe he should have a little talk with Olmert. I’m not saying he’s guilty or not guilty and I thank him for all he’s done for Israel but you know what? But on the side he also did illegal things for which he is accountable.

  2. AG has his personal interests in mind when investigating others and THAT should be investigated
hes reminding me of Comey not pleasing the right nor left when being untruthful
