The quick response by police on erev Shabbos led to the apprehension of a burglar dressed like a chareidi to avoid suspicion, breaking into homes in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Police on Friday evening were alerted by a resident who looked at security cameras and saw the suspect break into a home and steal valuables. Police arrived at the address without delay, detected the suspect who was trying to flee the area, and made the arrest after a short pursuit.
When police searched the suspect, they found burglary tools taped to his legs. Police succeeded in finding stolen jewelry and cash taken from a home, then returning the items to the rightful owner.
The suspect in custody in a male in his 40s, a Jerusalem resident. He was arraigned and his detention was extended.
