Rechovot Mayor (Kadima) Shuki Forer is about to be indicted on charges of fraud, conspiracy, perjury and breech of trust.
The allegations against the mayor date back to 1998, when he was competing in the mayoral race.
A final hearing by prosecution officials is scheduled to take place later in the week at which time the decision to move ahead with the indictment is expected to be made.
