On Wednesday, the House of Representatives, with overwhelming bipartisan support, passed a bill 400 to 20 tightening US sanctions on Iran’s petroleum. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu welcomes the US House of Representatives’ decision to tighten sanctions on Iran, issuing the following statement.
“Following the Iranian elections the House of Representatives has sent a clear message to the Iranian regime that international pressure will increase until Iran meets its obligations and ceases its pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability. We will judge Iran by its actions alone.”

The US House of Representatives, acting only by itself, has no power to make any decision about US policy toward Iran (or strawberries). The Israeli PM knows this, and so his public statement is nothing more than ill-considered kibbitzing in US politics, something he tried a year ago in his speech to the United Nations with his cartoon-style drawing of a bomb shaped like a circle. This shows his disrespect for the US government, which is the principal Earthly support of the state of Israel.
